âTheyâre in 42 Old Duck Street,â He Xu said, exhausted. They were still sitting in the dungeon.
âHow come youâre willing to speak now?â Zhu Xianyao asked.
She hadnât let down her guard just because He Xu was now suddenly willing to cooperate.
âI donât want to die,â He Xu replied straightforwardly.
âYou donât want to die? Do you think that anything you can say now will have any value? Youâve been gone for so long now that anyone who has half a brain should realize that youâve fallen into my hands. Even if you werenât in my hands, those assassins have already failed twice â thereâs no way they would stay holed up in the same place if they donât want to be detected. Whatâs the point of giving me that address now?â
âOf course thereâs a point. Thatâs an important secret rendezvous point that they didnât tell me about. I found out about it on accident. This is the biggest secret I know. Canât you tell if Iâm lying or not? You figure it out!â He Xu yelled.
He Xu was really putting on quite the performance.
Zhu Xianyao carefully inspected He Xu and found that there werenât any strange fluctuations. She nodded and said, âHe isnât lying.â
She stood up. âInform the others to get ready to immediately depart.â
âYes maâam!â Zhao Jingwen said before leaving.
Su Chen said, âYoung Miss, since this person has told us everything he knows, should weâŚâŚâ
He made a swift chopping motion with his hand.
He Xu panicked. âNo, no, you promised me that you wouldnât kill me if I told you!â
âShut your mouth!â Su Chen grabbed He Xu by the throat. It seemed as if a single word from Zhu Xianyao would be enough to end his life.
Zhu Xianyao thought for a moment, then shook her head. âForget about it. Leave him here for now. Who knows, he might still be useful to us in the future.â
âCount your lucky stars.â Su Chen grabbed He Xu by the collar and dragged him back to his cell.
However, he could only sigh in his heart.
If Zhu Xianyao had agreed to kill him, He Xu would have obtained his freedom. Su Chen had already given He Xu a Death Faking Medicine; as long as Zhu Xianyao gave the order, he would immediately âkillâ He Xu, then dump his body. The people on the outside would come by to pick him up and He Xu would be free. He had spent quite a bit of time gathering the ingredients for this medicine these past few days to refine it.
Unfortunately, Zhu Xianyao didnât want to kill him, so this Death Faking Medicine had completely gone to waste.
âThatâs your bad luck.â He dragged He Xu towards the cell.
âThen what should I do next?â He Xu was growing agitated.
âStay here for a bit. Iâll get you out of here.â
âThatâs what you said last time, but Iâm still here!â
âSo you think that Iâm useless? Donât worry, I can switch with someone else.â
ââŚâŚThatâs not what I meant,â He Xu muttered.
âThatâs right.â As he spoke, Su Chen shoved He Xu back into the cell.
Then, he pulled out an Origin Ring. âDonât blame me for not giving you an opportunity. This is your Origin Ring. Everything is still in there, along with a few vials of medicine I put in there. Now that you have it, whether or not you escape will depend on your own ability. But donât do it today. You just drank the Death Faking Medicine; even if you wonât be injured, youâll automatically fall asleep soon anyways.
He Xu grabbed it, then looked at himself and said with some apprehension, âWhere should I hide it?â
Su Chen shrugged. âThatâs your own problem.â
He definitely wouldnât be able to wear it on his finger. He Xu glanced himself over once before his gaze paused near his crotch.
Su Chen smiled slightly.
He Xu swallowed hard. âYou thought of this beforehand, didnât you?â
âI wonât tell anyone.â
He Xu rolled his eyes.
He began to stuff it in his pants. When he saw Su Chen standing there, he said impatiently, âWhy arenât you leaving yet?â
âIâve never seen anyone put a ring on that thing before,â Su Chen laughed. âOf course, the other reason is that I need to delay a bit. Zhu Xianyao is currently organizing the troops up there; if I delay a bit, Iâll be able to avoid the expedition this time.â
âYouâre going to remain in the castle? Arenât you going to go deal with those guys that tried to assassinate you?â He Xu was stunned.
Su Chen waved his hand dismissively. âI still need to turn back into You Tianyang.â
ââŚâŚYou really have thought everything through.â He Xu helplessly stuck his hands in his pants. His hands reemerged a moment later, and the ring was gone.
Su Chen laughed. âOkay, then Iâm going to leave for now.â
He suddenly thought of something as he was walking up the stairs. He turned around and said, âLet me warn you about something.â
âWhat is it?â
âDonât think about women.â
ââââââââââ
Zhu Xianyao took the others and left.
Only a few guards remained in the mostly empty castle.
Su Chen walked up the castleâs long, coiling staircase before he arrived at You Tianyangâs room.
A guard was standing in front of the door.
Su Chen merely shot the guard a glance and he fell into a deep sleep.
Upon entering the room, Su Chen quickly drew up to You Tianyangâs bedside.
âLarge-Bellied Pig Dragon BloodlineâŚâŚâ Su Chen smiled, then pulled out a medicinal vial and placed it on You Tianyangâs wound.
He gently pressed down, causing the wound to open up again. After collecting a few vials, Su Chen stopped the flow of blood again.
After taking care of this, Su Chen changed You Tianyangâs clothes for him, then picked up You Tianyang and walked downstairs.
Su Chen used Fata Morgana on anyone he ran into as he swaggered out of the castle. All of the experts in the castle had left. No one was aware of Su Chenâs entering or exiting.
Once he came to the castle outskirts, Su Chen whistled a few times. Night Demon reappeared.
She glanced at You Tianyang and asked with some confusion, âDidnât you say it was going to be He Xu this time? How come itâs this fatty again?â
âHe Xu canât get out right now, so I could only bring this guy first. Donât lose him again.â
âDonât worry about it. With me there, he definitely wonât be able to run away,â Night Demon said as she patted her chest confidently.
âGet him to take care of Yuan Gang too.â
âGot it. Any other orders?â Night Demon asked.
âYes.â Su Chen began to take off his clothes.
âHey, what are you doing!?â Night Demon was badly startled.
Su Chen ignored her. He changed into You Tianyangâs clothes, then pointed at himself. âRight here. Stab me.â
Night Demon looked on blankly.
âDonât worry about it, Iâll be fine. This kind of small wound wonât affect me,â Su Chen said.
âIâŚâŚâ Night Demon raised her blade, hands trembling. The young, simple-minded maiden finally felt a trace of fear.
âHurry!â
Pu.
Night Demon stabbed down.
Su Chen glanced at the small wound on his body and asked Night Demon, âDid you eat yet?â
âIâŚâŚ I did.â
âThen can you not use a bit more strength? Whoâre you trying to fool with a wound this shallow?â
Night Demon stabbed again.
Su Chen grunted. Fresh blood came flowing out.
He sensed his bodyâs condition briefly before saying, âItâs still a bit shallow. Again!â
Night Demon gritted her teeth and thrust out hard.
Pu!
Su Chen spat out a mouthful of blood.
âHow are you doing?â Night Demon began to panic.
âDammitâŚâŚ itâs too deep,â Su Chen managed to squeeze out.
âThen let me try again.â Night Demon pulled the blade and plunged it back in.
Pu.
Su Chen lowered his head and glanced at the blade sticking out from his body, completely silent.
âIs it good enough now?â Night Demon asked carefully.
âItâsâŚâŚ good enoughâŚâŚâ Su Chen waved his hand with great difficulty. âYou can leave now.â
âOh.â Night Demon pulled out the blade. Fresh blood poured out of the wound, causing Su Chen to almost pass out.
He snatched the blade from her. âThatâs good enoughâŚâŚ Your job is done. Take him and get out of here.â
He walked unsteadily back to the castle, pressing tightly on his wound.
âAre you going to be fine?â Night Demon yelled from behind him.
Su Chen clenched his fists.
As soon as he returned to You Tianyangâs room, Su Chen arduously drank down two vials of medicine, then lay down.
Lying on the bed, Su Chen muttered to himself, âWhy did I think to let her do it? I should have asked He Xu insteadâŚâŚâ
His eyes rolled into the back of his head as he cleanly passed out.
