Chapter 183 – Morning’s…

After returning to our room, we chatted a little over snacks and juice that we previously bought before falling asleep in our respective futons.

This was the third time I slept together with Umi. The first time being back when she slept over at my house and the second time was when I slept over at hers

At first, I was worried whether I could fall asleep at all because the girl that I loved was right beside me, but it seemed like my fatigue managed to win over and both of us fell asleep as soon as we got into our futons.

…Of course, since we were next to each other, we slept while holding hands.

Honestly, I wanted us to sleep together in one futon. I didn’t want to push it while in front of Riku-san, so this was as far as we could go.

And so, I managed to fall asleep while feeling the warmth of my girlfriend’s hands until morning finally came.

The morning sun shining through the large window and the faint sound of the insects and birds woke me up from my sleep. We turned off the AC before we went to sleep since it wasn’t too hot and I didn’t end up sweating the whole night. The morning felt really pleasant.

As I was thinking about laying down for a bit longer, I could hear a rustling sound behind me.

I turned around and found Umi changing.

The rustling came from Umi taking off her yukata.

“Ah, good morning, Maki. Did I wake you?”

“No, I’d been awake for a little while… Wait, is it time?”

“Mm. Well, I can stick around a little longer, but since grandma and mom probably already started preparing, it’s better that I leave earlier.”

The Asanagis’ came here to help Mizore-san with her family’s memorial service. Sora-san would be helping to prepare the food that would be served to Mizore-san’s relatives. Last night, Umi told me that she and Riku-san were tasked to clean and organize the room they would be using for the gathering.

“Right, where did Riku-san go?”

“I kicked him out of the room because I was going to change my clothes. He probably went to the parking lot.”

“You were in a deep sleep, I didn’t want to wake you up. Besides, I don’t mind you watching. I mean, you watched me change just now, didn’t you?”

“Oi, have you finished yet? I packed our luggage already, so hurry up, eat your breakfast and get going. They already prepared breakfast for us.”

“Don’t do that, I don’t want to bother her. Anyway, you’re going to come back before noon, right?”

“Mhm. I’ll try to come back as soon as I can. Shizuku-san told me of a good place yesterday. There’s a beautiful river nearby, we can play to our heart’s content there.”

Since it was a river, that meant we would be wearing the swimsuits we picked out the other day.

It had been a long time since I last wore a swimsuit, save for P.E, so I felt a little nervous, but my excitement beat out my nervousness because…

“Is that so? Should I not bring my swimsuit after all?”

“…Please bring it.”

She had me dancing on the palm of her hand and there was nothing I could do about it.

Well, to be fair, that was how badly I wanted to see her in that swimsuit. I saw a glimpse at the store’s fitting room, but I was conscious of other people, so I didn’t get a good look at it.

“Hehe, fine, I’ll bring it with me just for you. But this time you have to look at me and praise me properly, okay?”

Come to think of it, she bought two swimsuits. I wonder which one she brought?

One of them should be for hanging out with Amami-san and the others.

Her eyes fluttered, completely caught off guard. Her face gradually became redder.

She usually made the first move, so she didn’t have her guard up at all.

I did this partly as revenge for all the anguish she had caused me.

I handled that smoothly, but I couldn’t help but wonder if I overdid it as Umi clung to me really closely when we were having our breakfast.
