They didnât think that Jerome would actually come out with such a shocking remark. Helios and Sera both looked down.
Jeromeâs parents were likewise baffled, and they immediately bowed their heads again towards Helios. Theyâre incredibly apologetic and embarrassed for their sonâs actions.
âYour Majesty, weâre terribly sorry. Jerome⊠does not know what great honor heâs been given, that heâŠâ
âItâs all because we raised our son wrong, Your Majesty. Itâs our fault for raising him until now, not teaching him how to see what great honor Her Highness hasâŠâ
Nevertheless, though mixed with a hint of bashfulness, Jeromeâs ardent gaze was fixed directly on Sera.
Rosé also looked back at Sera with a completely bewildered expression.
Sera shook her head immediately, wanting to explain to the little girl that Jeromeâs feelings for herself werenât of any consequence.
However, Rosé turned her head quickly.
âNot Sera! You caaaaaanât! NEVEEEEEER!â
And so, that lazy afternoon, RosĂ©âs deafening outcry shook the entire imperial palace.
âYour Highness RosĂ©, if you just hear me out for a momentâŠâ
Jerome and his parents soon went back home after the incident. Of course, the marquis and marchioness bowed and apologized profusely towards Rosé and Helios before they left. After which, Sera, Helios and the twins quickly returned to the Star Palace.
Sera and Helios had been very restless ever since Jerome dropped the bomb like that, because even after they had returned to the Star Palace, Rosé had yet to return to normal.
It had already been half an hour since Rosé climbed under the duvet with her stuffed bunny in her arms, refusing to show her face.
Sera and Helios were nervousâthey feared that RosĂ© might cry even more than they had ever seen her cry before.
âYour Highness, does your heart hurt?â
Sera didnât want her relationship with the twins to go south, especially when they would be separated for good in the near future.
As Sera had unintentionally taken RosĂ©âs first love from her, she felt exceedingly uncomfortable.
âBut RosĂ©, why are you upset, huh? Youâve just been there for thirty minutes now.â
Ferre still didnât seem to understand what had transpired earlier, and he persistently tried to flip over RosĂ©âs duvet.
Sera and Helios werenât expecting that the sulky RosĂ© would come out from the covers any time soon. But to their surprise, RosĂ© fortunately sat up on the bed on her own.
Now sitting up on the bed, Rosé could be seen having a pout on her lips.
âIâm not angry. So Sera and Heli Oppa donât have to do this.â
Sera and Helios briefly exchanged a glance with each other, startled by RosĂ©âs mature demeanor. A silent conversation passed between themâIs RosĂ© really okay? Or is she just reacting like this because sheâs too shocked?
However, as if noticing what went on between Sera and Helios just now, Rosé narrowed her green eyes.
âRosĂ©, do you want a hug?â
But Rosé hugged her bunny tighter and shook her head. Instead, she looked between Sera and Helios with a hint of resignation in her eyes. For some reason, she even looked sorry for them.
âBecause Sera has to marry Heli Oppa anyway.â
One after another, Helios coughed and Sera asked back dazedly the moment Rosé dropped yet another bomb at them.
Their eyes met again, however they both averted their gazes, smiling awkwardly.
Normally, the two of them would have denied this and would have scolded RosĂ© for such wordsâthat she shouldnât say something like that so recklessly. However, both Sera and Helios remained tight-lipped this time.
Because, on one hand, their denial would fuel RosĂ©âs broken heart from the rejection she received from her first love. Itâs the kind of pain that she had never experienced before.
Again, Rosé looked alternately between Sera and Helios. Her sharp senses yet again seemed to have picked up on their thoughts.
âAnd I donât like Jerome anymore.â
Rosé let out a huff of breath as she said this, shaking off her feelings for Jerome.
âI didnât like him that much in the first place. I like people who like me.â
Sera and Helios exchanged one last look and a small nod. It was a signal for the adults to quickly support RosĂ©âs decision. And their expressions were filled with relief this time.
âYour Highness RosĂ©, youâve become such a wonderful child.â
âRosĂ©, youâve truly bloomed into a wise child who has a broad outlook on life. Sure enough, youâll find someone youâll like even more down the line.â
âThank you for taking my side, Heli Oppa and Sera.â
Rosé smiled with satisfaction, proud that she overcame her first love that did not bear fruit.
However, as clueless as ever, Ferre didnât know what was going on at all. He tilted his head to the side at an angle, then asked RosĂ© seriously.
âRosĂ©, you liked Jerome? Since when?â
Rosé looked at his twin brother with a hint of pity in her eyes because he remained unaware until now.
Embarrassed, Ferre turned to Helios and tugged on his older brotherâs arm.
âHeli Hyung, Heli Hyung, you knew that RosĂ© likes Jerome?â
Smiling awkwardly, Helios carried Ferre up on his lap. Even though no verbal answer was given, his older brotherâs actions were enough for Ferre to realize.
âSera, Sera. You also knew? That RosĂ© likes Jerome?â
Ferre gazed upon Sera with an intense gaze, perhaps saying, âPlease tell me Iâm not the only one who didnât know.â
However, as Sera couldnât bear to lie to Ferre, who was still on Heliosâ lap, she touched his cute, plump cheek.
Thus, he realized that he truly was the only one who remained oblivious.
With an indignant expression on his face, Ferre muttered.
âWhy am I the only one who didnât know?!â
