The three arrogant men had been stunned by Xie Yanâs resolute kick. By the time they realized what had happened, Brother Zhu had already crashed to the floor.
His two henchmen quickly helped him up. Brother Zhu didnât expect Xie Yan to kick him. He had been in this community for several years and this was the first time he had been beaten and it was even in front of his subordinates. If this got out, how would he live in the future?
âDamn it!â Brother Zhu cursed and said angrily, âBeat him up!â
In his opinion, the kick just now had been a sneak attack so he was caught off guard. If they really fought, could the three of them not defeat one frail person?
The kitten on the side squinted.
These three people are all demons but it seemed that their cultivation levels were not that high. Yet they still dared to bully others openly? Was there no one to manage this community?
Brother Zhu threw a fist at Xie Yanâs face but Xie Yan swiftly turned sideways and easily grabbed the opponentâs wrist, twisting it and pulling the person forward. His knee struck the opponentâs belly and then he kicked the entire person away.
The man brought his other hand to his arm and cried out in pain. The kitten looked at the man. Just now, it heard a clear âcrackâ sound. The manâs bone was probably dislocated.
Xie Yan coldly spit out, âGet out.â
Ji Qinghuai finally noticed something surrounding Xie Yan. Fury.
The kitten looked at the person who was stupefied at the door. Still not leaving, waiting to die?
Brother Zhu was the first to come back to his senses but he didnât plan to leave. He had been dominating this community for a few years already and he couldnât have been rampant for so long without any tricks up his sleeve.
A little white snake crawled out of his sleeve and landed on his palm. He sneered and threw the little snake at Xie Yan.
This snake is extremely poisonous!
The kitten had no time to think before it jumped up and smacked the snake to the ground with one claw. As soon as it fell, the white snake suddenly rushed to the kitten and bit its neck.
Xie Yan frowned and using his spirit power, he slammed the snake to the wall where it fell to the ground and curled up into a ball.
Meanwhile, the kittenâs legs went limp and collapsed. Xie Yan knew how poisonous the snake was. Once it bit the flesh, the poison would spread quickly within the blood and without the antidote, the poisoned victim would only be able to live for two hours maximum.
âMeowâŚâ The kitten cried out softly. It felt uncomfortable and couldnât move.
Ji Qinghuai was in low spirits, it seemed that today was destined to go against him.
Ji Qinghuai knew that he wouldnât die but Xie Yan didnât know this. When Xie Yan saw the snake had bitten the kitten, his face became cold as he turned to Brother Zhu, âThe antidote.â
Brother Zhu smirked triumphantly, âYou want the antidote? Beg me.â
In the blink of an eye, Xie Yan flickered to Brother Zhuâs side and he gripped his neck, âGive me the antidote.â
âNoâŚâ
Xie Yan exerted a little more strength and Brotherâs Zhuâs face immediately turned red and he started struggling desperately.
A terrifying and murderous aura surrounded Xie Yan,
âIâll say it again. Give me the antidote. Now.â
Only then did Brother Zhu realize that he couldnât offend the man in front of him. Now was not the time to talk nonsense, the most important thing was to save his life.
He dug his hand into his pocket and drew out a small bottle, handing it to Xie Yan in a hurry.
Xie Yan grabbed his arm with force, issuing a âClickâ sound. Brother Zhuâs hand dropped feebly but now, there was no pain in his arm.
The two men who came with Brother Zhu were simply scared to death. Xie Yan threw him away and closed the door as if nothing had happened. The entire time, he didnât even spare a glance at the other two men.
The little white snake huddled up and crawled to brother Zhu. But before, it could climb up its ownerâs body, its body suddenly stiffened and twisted wildly. The white scaly skin turned black at a speed visible to the naked eye and a pool of black liquid poured out of its mouth. Finally, it fell to the ground and remained motionless.
The two people who had witnessed the whole process were scared out of their wits and sat on the ground in a daze.
In the living room, Xie Yan opened the bottle and fed the kitten two pills. After the kitten swallowed them, he checked the wound on its neck.
The white snake was small so the wound wasnât too big and could be healed in a few days.
After confirming that there was nothing wrong with the kitten, Xie Yan took out his mobile phone and sent a message to Qin Lang, asking him to find someone to deal with the people outside as well as to take care of the public security issues in the community.
After sending the message, he squatted down and stretched out his hand to stroke the kittenâs head but the kitten dodged abruptly. What are you doing?!
Feeling slightly upset, Xie Yan withdrew his hand and stood up. âIâm going to take a shower. Suit yourself.â
The kitten tilted its head and watched him walk into the room, then it saw him walk into the bathroom with his pyjamas. Not long after, it heard the sound of running water. The kitten yawned.
He had been bitten two times in a day and the remaining poison had not been cleared so he was a little tired. He jumped onto the sofa, closed his eyes and soon fell asleep.
In a daze, he seemed to hear people talking at the door. One of them seemed to be Xie Yan and to otherâs voice was slightly familiar but he was so tired that he couldnât even lift his eyelids so he didnât care about the other person.
Yang Yinan stood at the door and said with a smile, âMr Xie, Iâm sorry for causing you trouble. Iâve taken away the two people and I can assure you that this kind of thing will not happen in the future.â
Xie Yan nodded and replied, âThank you.â
âNo problem,â Yang Yinan said. âIf you have nothing else, I will leave first, you should rest early.â
Xie Yan nodded and once Yang Yinanâs back disappeared, he closed the door and his eyes fell on the sofa where the silver cat was sleeping soundly. He took a thin blanket and covered the kitten with it.
Xie Yan checked the time and figured he should rest as well. The kittenâs ears twitched slightly and fell into a deep sleep.
Ji Qinghuai didnât wake up until noon of the next day. Opening his slightly blurry eyes, an unfamiliar face appeared in his sight and he was stunned by the white and delicate face.
Seeing the kitten wake up, Xie Yan breathed a sigh of relief, âYouâre finally awake.â
Ji Qinghuai was startled before he recalled yesterdayâs events and who this person was. After relaxing his vigilance, the kitten lay down on the sofa softly. He felt slightly dizzy.
Xie Yan felt slightly helpless, âWho asked you to clash with that snake?â
With his ability, the snake wouldnât be able to get close to him, let alone bite him. The kitten was fine now but it took two days to completely recover.
Upon hearing his words, the kitten was unhappy. Wasnât I be bitten because of you? What kind of conscience do you have?!
The more it thought about it, the angrier it became. The kitten swiped its paw at Xie Yan but it was too weak and left only a slight scratch.
Ji Qinghuai was depressed. When will I be able to recover?
If he had known this earlier, he wouldnât have gone out these two days, there wouldnât have been so much trouble just by staying at home.
Looking at the cute kitten, Xie Yan couldnât help reaching out his hand but the kitten reacted quickly and dodged his hand, glaring fiercely at him. Is this young master something you can touch easily?
Xie Yan was slightly embarrassed. He was sure that the cat didnât want to be petted but since he wanted to raise the kitten and the kitten was also willing to be raised by him, why didnât it allow him to pet him?
Although he had no choice, the cat was bitten because it tried to help him. He had always had a clear distinction between acts of kindness and animosity so he noted down the little kittenâs selfless act this time.
He stood up and asked, âI made fish, do you want to eat it?â
The kittenâs eyes lit up. Seeing this, he couldnât help but chuckle. He went to the kitchen to bring out the plate of fish as well as a pair of chopsticks.
Ji Qinghuai thought it was a pity that he didnât make the steamed seabass today. Instead, Xie Yan had made fish nuggets that didnât look as delicious as the steamed sea bass from last night.
On the other hand, how could Xie Yan know that his fish nuggets were being disliked? He picked up a small piece with chopsticks and brought it to the kittenâs mouth.
The kitten was stunned. I can eat by myself!
Xie Yan figured out the kittenâs thoughts and explained, âYouâll stain your fur and whiskers.â
Ji Qinghuai thought for a while and agreed with him but he was an adult and it was strange for another person to feed him. He looked at Xie Yan who had no intentions of taking back his hand. The cat cooperatively opened its mouth and ate the fish piece. The taste is actually pretty good.
Xie Yan brought another small piece to the kittenâs mouth and this time the kitten ate it without hesitation.
After repeating this several times, the initial embarrassment disappeared and Ji Qinghuaiâs mood improved.
He had noticed that Xie Yan helped him pick out the fish bones. Every bite he swallowed consisted of the soft fish meat. He stared at Xie Yanâs face, turns out you can be so considerate.
The author has something to say:
Xie Yan: What should I do if my cat doesnât want to be touched?
T/N: For Ji Qinghuai, I am using either âheâ or âitâ interchangeably because some parts would sound off if I stick to just one pronoun. I also realised that there was only half the edited chapter in my word doc when I was about to upload so I had to re-edit the chapter and honestly, this one isnât the best since I forgot which parts I edited T-T
