âWhat happened? Why is the army surrounding the police stationâŚâ
âWho knows? But Iâve never seen such a large deployment in my life.â
Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.
âMachinegun, artillery, holy hell, what in godâs name is happening?â
âJust walk away, or you might be the spark that ignites the keg.â
Feng Cityâs police department was encircled by an army coming out of nowhere. There was even a chopper dropping right at their doors.
Mo Ziyang, dressed in major attire jumped off before it could land.
Soldiers lined up in haste and stood with their back straight and giving a military salute, âSir, the situation is under complete control!â
Mo Ziyang walked with a wide stride into the police department.
Liu Yuxuan was watching this unfold from among the gathered crowd in mute shock.
Never in her wildest dreams did she think Li Moâs plain card would call over such a bigshot.
Major Mo Ziyang!
In front of the prison cell, Luo Zhengyi was ashen and shaking in his boots. Gone was his tough attitude.
Mo Ziyang stormed in barking, âWhereâs Luo Zhengyi?â
âH-here!â
âWhat is my nephew charged with?â
âMajor Mo, may I be so bold to ask, who is your nephew?â
Mo Ziyangâs anger towered, kicking a table.
âAre you messing with me? Read my lips, Li Mo.â
âA-ah, Li Mo. H-heâŚâ
âIs he a drug dealer? I heard this was his crime.â
âN-not at all. Thereâs no wayâŚâ Luo Zhengyi wiped the sweat off his brow. Never did he conceive it possible Li Mo would be related to the capitalâs Mo clan, and being quite close too.
âNephew?â
âRelease him, itâs been a misunderstanding!â Luo Zhengyi ordered.
âMajor Mo, it was just a big misunderstanding.â

Li Mo walked out of his cramped cell, to the relief of Mo Ziyang.
Mo Ziyang pointed at Luo Zhengyi, âYou, get in.â
âEh?â
âWhat, you donât want to cool off a month inside?â
âM-major Mo, this had all been just one huge misunderstanding and I express my sincere apology. But going inside the cell is just⌠not proper. Iâm after all the chief of this police department.â
A soldier walked over with a file.
Mo Ziyang opened it then threw it at Luo Zhengyi, âThis here is from your father in law, relieving you of your duty.â
Luo Zhengyi shuddered.
The Mo clan wielded military power, and military power meant the power of speech. Luo Zhengyi was but a mere chief of police. There was no comparison between the two.
âEmbezzlement, taking bribes, having a mistress, abuse of authority, involved in debased businesses, the list goes on. I have you checked on my way here, and what did I find? No less than thirty accounts of authority abuse. Luo Zhengyi, do you have anything to say for yourself?â
Luo Zhengyiâs lips moved but no word came out.
He resigned himself and entered the cell lifelessly.
Li Mo was now out among the soldiers in the police station and didnât know what to say.
âUncle, can you not bring the whole army? Wouldnât a simple phone call do?â
âOf course it would, but I did it to show everyone you are part of the Mo clan. They mess with you, they mess with all of us. This is only setting an example.â
Mo Ziyang scratched his head, âI have my hands full with military work since the Middle East is once again in turmoil. Your grandfather wants to send me in a few days. What if something happens to you when Iâm away?â
âIn that case, I will just use my own way to deal with anything that comes up.â
âStop right there!â
Luo Zhengyiâs son walked over ashen.
âMo Ziyang, you better get it straight. You disgraced my father and I wonât forgive you!â
âRemember my name, Luo Ying. The man who one day will take your life.â
Mo Ziyang was out of it for a second then slapped him.
âDamn bastard, I heard youâre the one who almost stabbed my nephew today. I chose to forgo it, but instead of standing at the side you dare come to call me out? Are you tired of living?â
Luo Yingâs face swelled but didnât cower, meeting Mo Ziyangâs fierce gaze.
âMo Ziyang, you have power and status, but remember this. Change is the only constant. Donât look down on youth!â
Mo Ziyang hoised Luo Ying by the neck and dished out slaps galore, not forgetting to drive every hit with curses, âHere, Iâm looking down on you, bullying you. What are you gonna do about it? My anger was mostly gone learning nephew was unharmed but look at you with all that swag and backbone. What change? Youâll still be the same garbage fifty years from now!â
Mo Ziyang released him and Luo Ying fell like a sack of potatoes, but the fire in his eyes never wavered.
Having vented, Mo Ziyang asked Li Mo, âWhy not come with me to the capital? Your grandfather misses you dearly.â
âI will, but later.â
Mo Ziyang nodded and left in the chopper.
The army around the station withdrew and peace and order were restored in half an hour.
Li Mo left the station. He hailed a cab home since he had something important to do.
A bruised Luo Ying stood outside the cell with clenched fists.
Wang Dongâs brow furrowed in deep thought.
Luo Ying roared, âUncle Wang, I will definitely pay him back for today!â
Wang Dong patted his shoulder and walked to the cellâs door, âBrother Luo, you and I both know the power of the Mo clan. They left you with a way out on account of your father in law and brother having your back. But that doesnât apply to me. The Wang clan and Mo clan arenât cordial. Iâm sure you know better than me what will be the outcome if we provoke them.â
Luo Zhengyi sighed.
Luo Ying was stunned, âUncle Wang, what are you trying to say?â
âNothing, only that I canât help your father out of the cell.â
âUncle Wang, thereâs no need to help us. Our troubles will be dealt with by me!â
Wang Dong laughed, âGood, thatâs the spirit. I wasnât wrong about you. Yanyan made the right choice!â
Luo Ying promised, âI will definitely make Li Mo and the Mo clan pay for what theyâve done!â
Luo Zhengyi said, âYingying, let it go. We havenât lost anything in this, just my office. Even that isnât important. With your grandfatherâs help, we will soon move to the capital. Any office there is much higher in status than here. Thereâs no need to provoke the Mo clan further. Let us take this lesson and learn from it.â
âNo, this is far from over. I have never been so miserable in all my life. Luo Ying, if you donât give me vindication, I wonât marry you!â
Wang Yanyan stomped over in rage.
Luo Ying clenched his fists, âYanyan, I, Luo Ying, vow to get revenge!â
