“What dream?” asked Di Qiuhe, beaming, he poked He Bai on his dimple, “I bet I was in the dream, yeah?”
He Bai nodded, “Yeah, you were.”
Hearing that, Di Qiuhe’s smile turned more goofy, he hastened to say, “Tell me about it, tell me about it.”
“You turned into a pig and you harassed me the whole night, and you posted something using our Weibo account, which of course incurred some complaint from Xing Shaofeng.”
Di Qiuhe’s smile disappeared.
“That’s not the end it, you didn’t sleep the whole night, you kept playing with that giant teddy bear.”
Di Qiuhe smacked his lips and pulled the blanket to his side, trying to take refuge under the blanket. Somehow he was too shy to make any eye contact with He Bai.
“And you just kept staring me in bed.”
Di Qiuhe subtly slid to the bedside, trying to escape.
“Ouch, my lower back.”
Hearing that, Di Qiuhe returned to bed and gave his puppy a massage.
“And my legs.”
Di Qiuhe’s hands travelled down.
“And my neck, you kissed me too hard.”
Di Qiuhe squinted and rolled He Bai over to check his neck, yeah, there was a hickey. Thinking how wild he went last night that he paid little attention to how hard he went, he now wanted to kick himself. He lowered his head and blew He Bai a kiss, kept massaging his beloved puppy.
He Bai felt much better after the good massage, he “forgave” Di Qiuhe for going too wild last night. He was feeling so comfortable that he couldn’t keep his eyes open, he rolled over and put his hand on Di Qiuhe’s hand, “Come cuddle, I’m sleepy.”
The goofy smile came back.
Di Qiuhe opened his arms and cuddled He Bai, he lied right next to him and kept patting him on the back, like he was singing a lullaby he went, “Little puppy go to sleep, I’m sorry I woke you up...”
“You are forgiven... ...”, He Bai buried his face into Di Qiuhe’s chest and wrap his leg around Qiuhe’s waist. Soon he closed his eyes and asked in a low voice like he was sleep-talking, “You asked for leave today, yeah?”
Di Qiuhe said yes and kissed him on the head.
“You take a nap too.” He Bai raised his head and kissed him on the chin, cuddling him even harder, “I want some steamed buns after nap, and fried eggs that you made me all the time...”
“Sure thing, consider it done.” Di Qiuhe replied with great satisfaction, “I’ll do whatever that makes you happy.”
The two had some unprotected sleep and they got a video call from Xing Shaofeng shortly after they woke up.
“You two? Right at when ‘Immortal Way’ is about to air?”
“I’m sorry,” said He Bai apologetically, “I didn’t stop my pig in time, sorry team for putting you guys into such trouble.”
Hearing that, Di Qiuhe pouted and wanted to defend himself, but He Bai clapped a hand over his mouth.
Seeing that, Xing Shaofeng couldn’t help but smile, “All right guys, I got this. Thanks to Qin Li and Di Xiasong, the two had attracted some attention for you guys, but please think twice next time you want to post something, try not post anything that might be considered PDA, please?”
“Thank you, Shaofeng, I promise it won’t happen again.” He Bai grabbed Di Qiuhe’s hand and swore.
Xing Shaofeng smiled, seeing that, He Bai took the opportunity and asked, “So, what happened to Qin Li and Di Xiasong?”
Xing Shaofeng who was going through a report his team member just submitted him and said, “Haha, you might as well ask Qiuhe, he knows about it, I gotta go.”
He Bai turned around and looked at Di Qiuhe with a meaningful smile.
Di Qiuhe soon hugged He Bai like he was begging for mercy for not letting He Bai know about this in time, “I... I don’t know anything till this morning, Puppy. Zeng Peizhong died, Di Xiasong was involved in a fight in prison and his private parts were severely injured. Qin Li flew back to B City after she heard about that, only to find Zeng Peizhong’s lawyers were waiting for her in B City and asked her to assume Zeng Peizhong’s debt and pay the hospital Zeng Peizhong’s medical bills. Of course Qin Li refused that, she had a heated conversation with the lawyers while no one noticed Di Xiasong who was resting in bed sneaked out of the room and went to the roof, trying to commit a suicide by jumping from the building... ... Anyways, that farce didn’t end till this morning.”
He Bai was dumbfounded hearing all that, he stammered, “Zeng... Zeng Peizhong died?”
“Correct, but he died a happy death, he got to see his daughter before he died.” said Di Qiuhe in a soothing tone, trying to make He Bai feel better.
Hearing that, He Bai sighed... ... ‘Maybe death is not too bad for Zeng Peizhong considering how sick he had been, at least he didn’t have to suffer any more.’
With that in mind he kept asking, “How about Qin Li, what’s going on with her? How come she didn’t get Zeng Peizhong’s assets and she was in debt?”
“Haha,” Di Qiuhe served He Bai a steamed bun and replied, “Zeng Peizhong is so smart. Qin Li now is penniless and she is in debt, I guess that served her right for what she has done.”
Wow, she was in debt and considering the condition of Di Chunhua and Di Xiasong, Qin Li was doomed.
He Bai somehow felt a bit emotional thinking about that, but deep down he knew what Di Qiuhe said was so true. He changed the subject, “My luggage is in the hotel across the street, wanna go collect them with me? And, I need some shopping done, didn’t pack enough clothes. What do you want for dinner, my birthday boy, I will do whatever you say today.”
“Shopping?”
“Yeah, it’s so much colder than I imagined, I’m going to live here for months, I need some clothes.” He Bai said that while chewing a bun, then he looked at Di Qiuhe and frowned, “Wait, look at your face now, wait, you don’t want me to be here with you? No, I’m telling ya, I AM staying here! I am your assistant now and my internship application for being your assistant in ‘Wolf Venom’ set got approved by school, I’m going nowhere but here, I’m telling you... ...”
Di Qiuhe was stoked, he walked to He Bai and kissed him.
Then Di Qiuhe carried He Bai in his arms, marching to the bedroom.
He Bai glared at him, “What are you doing?”
“You, obviously.” Di Qiuhe’s voice went deeper, he didn’t even try to hide his thoughts, “All right, today is your first day, my personal assistant.”
He Bai said, “Assistant! Do you know the meaning of that word? Let go of me, I just climbed out of bed, I don’t want to climb back to bed now.”
Di Qiuhe smiled and said nothing, he shut the door and... ... you know ;)
