With trembling hands, he takes out a small bottle and takes a sip.
‘Ugh, I feel sick……’
I’ve recovered my strength and other things, but the nausea has left me a little nauseous. The Curse of Chaos……. I don’t want to go through that again.
I lay on my back and took in some fresh air. I feel much better.
“You are utterly reckless, aren’t you? How could you accept the curse of an evil dragon on yourself?”
I lay down and above me was the earth mother goddess in the form of Sylphy. Her golden eyes look down at me.
“But, well, you’ve done a great job. You are indeed a hero of this world. It was like watching the great Hero Earth Drago.”
“That’s because I’m using his or her ability. But I also felt something strange. It was more like an intuition …… or a flash of inspiration. When I follow that feeling, things go well.”
It was not reading information by “appraisal”. It was a different feeling from the “Divine Eye” as well.
Come to think of it, when I’m reading Earth Drago, the ‘Divine Eye’ doesn’t get in the way. When it was Marianne’s time, it was quite a hindrance because her predictive ability was delayed by my “appraisal” reading.
The “True Eye”.
“What is that?” I got up with a plop, and sat cross-legged facing God.
“God’s Eye’ was originally a gift reserved for gods. The “Divine Eye” is the ability that God gave to mankind. The “true eye,” on the other hand, is a technique that people have trained themselves and sublimated to the level of a unique skill – a technique for deriving the best solution based on experience, I guess.”
“Is that also an ability of Earth Drago’s?”
“Yes.”
I knew it. That means it’s not me.
Smack. A light, weak chop landed on his forehead.
“What’s with the disappointed look on your face? Hear me out. Earth Drago had mastered the true eye, but you were still able to use it when you weren’t reading him, weren’t you?”
“I don’t remember.”
“You just weren’t aware of it. When you read Earth Drago, who had the same technique, you became aware of it in the form of intuition or a flash of inspiration. Try to remember. Whenever you faced a difficult problem, you first determined the outcome and then always chose the best solution to lead you there.”
For example, when he defeated Hagel Oys.
“Normally, you can’t just take a newly acquired skill and use it out of the blue. The moment you have been stabbed in the back, you may be caught off guard and think he has won. But you were different. The moment you set the result of “defeating Hagel Oys,” you examined the disincentive from the information you obtained and anticipated a future in which your opponent would fight back once he was fully recovered. On that basis, you acted optimally. While using your unique skills, you understood their characteristics and utilized them to the fullest. This is something not just anyone can do.”
Even after that, how it was a great decision to take Sylphy out and send her back home, the fight with Musashi, and how he recreated the magic gun with his hands. Raising me up all over the place.
It’s kind of funny because he’s not aware of it.
“However, it is also true that sometimes there are things that are left out. Especially when no one is reading and stealing from you. It’s no wonder you lack experience, but be aware of it from now on.”
Please don’t close with a warning. It ruins the mood of praise.
“Now, that’s enough of the lecture. I don’t want to take up too much of your time, so let’s get down to business.”
Sylphy (God in the form of Sylphy) became serious.
I was about to start a serious conversation, yet I was relaxed. I pictured Sylphy thinking about how to eat green peppers, which she doesn’t like.
“The evil dragon has started to intervene.”
“But the evil dragon is sealed, right?”
“Not directly, but through a third party. We haven’t been able to identify who it is yet, but the person who gave Gutte Beauweil the ‘evil dragon’s miasma’ is the one.”
I think it was, “a little man in a black robe”. Yeah, it was Gutte who identified him as a “man,” so it could have been a woman too.
I tried to get a deeper reading on who he was, but I couldn’t figure out who he really was. “He came out of the wall” and “disappeared into the floor,” which doesn’t make sense.
Telling her this as I was wiping the blood from my nose.
“If God can’t track, you can’t either. Perhaps he has divinity. And if someone can come and go across the “border,” that narrows it down. I mean, as far as I know, they’re the only ones I can think of….. but let’s not go there now.”
More importantly, says the Earth Mother Goddess with a stern look on her face.
“The evil dragon is after you. Mel Lylute.”
It was quite a shocking statement, but I chuckled as I imagined Sylphy desperately trying to swallow a bell pepper.
“Heh, I see you’ve got plenty of time to spare.”
“Pfft, l’m going to get back at you.”
“Don’t you say that. I’m just reevaluating.”
Does this mean I’m cheating with God? I shuddered a little, but I also felt a sense of relief, thinking, “Well, this God can do it”.
“But why me? Because I’m a hero?”
“Perhaps it was before that – when you acquired the divine eye. You must have sensed what we were up to and took measures.”
In other words, I’m getting caught in the middle of a game of charades between God and an Evil dragon. It’s really annoying.
“So what am I supposed to do? Should I go and kill the evil dragon before he does something to me?”
The Great Mother Goddess of the Earth looks stunned at my throwaway question. It was a look that Sylphy doesn’t make often, so it was new to me.
“It’s too early to tell. I’m sorry to say, but until you gain strength, you’re going to be behind the scenes.”
“I have the power……”
