To become one of the Ten Arbiters, Nightking Zhenwu had to have sufficient boldness, deceit, temperament, and strength. He could not be simple in any one of those aspects, and this was amply demonstrated in how he had used his Honor Points, which were no longer of much use to him, to directly cut off Lu Yinâs future. The Nightking had gone from being passive to active.
No, that was not accurate. From the very start, Nightking Zhenwu had made active moves against Lu Yin, as Zhuo Daynight was in his hands.
Everything that the man did was shrouded in sinisterness.
Lu Yin could not help but think of when his dieâs one pip: Pilfer had grabbed Ellen Galeâs diary. That book had recorded her experiences of agony, hatred, despair, and indescribable stillness. It had documented her transition from hope to despair, and the diary perfectly captured who the Nightking was.
Currently, Zhuo Daynight was forced to experience the same emotions, and in just another two months, her despair would reach an even deeper level, and her emotions would sublimate into an ineffable and absolute nadir.
What did one person have to experience to do such cruelty to others?
If the Neohuman Alliance represented the universeâs extreme darkness, then Nightking Zhenwu represented humanityâs extreme darkness.
Nightking Zhenwu had made a move, and Lu Yin had to reply.
He called Nightking Yuanjing directly.
The Nightking bloodline had sent some people to assassinate Lu Yin, and apparently, they had not been sent by Nightking Zhenwu. This was because, despite his abilities and position, he was not able to command a powerhouse whose power level was at 400,000.
This indicated that even though the decision makers within the Nightking bloodline valued Nightking Zhenwu, they did not necessarily follow his wishes to the letter. In their eyes, the importance of the stone of inheritance did not even need to be mentioned.
Nightking Yuanjingâs image appeared on the screen, and he beamed at Lu Yin. âLittle Yin, is there some issue that has you looking for Grandpa Yuanjing?â
Lu Yin felt nauseated the moment he saw Nightking Yuanjingâs smile. Both sides had already shed all pretenses of politeness, so there was no need for Lu Yin to continue putting on an act. He calmly asked, âIs the Nightking bloodline aware of what Nightking Zhenwu did?â
Nightking Yuanjing said, âAre you talking about how he accused you of being a traitor to the Fifth Mainland and used his Honor Points to support his testimony?â
Lu Yin nodded.
Nightking Yuanjing reluctantly answered, âThatâs something between you two children, and we cannot intervene. Youths are often too impulsive.â
Lu Yin smiled and then retrieved the Daynight clanâs stone of inheritance from his cosmic ring. âDoes the Nightking bloodline need this?â
Nightking Yuanjingâs eyes grew heated when he saw the stone of inheritance, and he stared at Lu Yin. âSince itâs in your possession, will you return it?â
Lu Yin casually tossed it up and down. âAs long as Nightking Zhenwu withdraws his allegations, I can return the stone of inheritance.â
Nightking Yuanjingâs face showed his contempt. âZhenwu has his own thoughts, and we cannot force things. Still, I can try and help you ask.â
Lu Yin gestured for him to proceed.
Nightking Yuanjing disconnected.
âSeventh Bro, that old fogey is still playing hard to get. Who does he think heâs bluffing?â The Ghost Monkey was enraged.
Lu Yin remained calm and quietly waited.
After a while, Nightking Yuanjingâs image reappeared on the screen, and he looked at Lu Yin, clearly upset. âLittle Yin, isnât your disagreement with Zhenwu too great?â
Lu Yin commented, âWhatever his conditions are, just give them to me.â
Nightking Yuanjing sighed. âZhenwu wants you to apologize to my Daynight clan in front of the entire universe and then destroy all of the battle techniques that you obtained in the stone of inheritance.â
Lu Yinâs expression grew cold. âDestroy? How?â
Nightking Yuanjing explained, âCompletely overdraw your spiritual force so that youâll never be able to recover.â
Lu Yinâs lips curled up, and a smile gradually appeared on his face.
Nightking Yuanjing smiled back. âI know that these conditions are too extreme, but my Daynight clanâs battle techniques have never been released to any outsiders. So naturally, you must remove everything that youâve learned.â
Lu Yin stared into Nightking Yuanjingâs eyes, and then calmly stated, âI, Lu Yin, unified the Outerverse, and even if I canât become one of the Cosmic Five, my status within the Hall of Honor wonât be any lower than theirs. Tell Nightking Zhenwu that I have ways to make sure that this stone of inheritance will never reach the Daynight clan.â
Nightking Yuanjingâs expression changed, and his voice grew sharp. âLittle Yin, you are threatening my Daynight clan!â
Lu Yin grew arrogant. âThatâs right. And Iâm not just threatening it. As long as I, Lu Yin, hold the position of the Outerverseâs Allied Forcesâ Commander, the Daynight clan will not be able to enter the Outerverse, and none of the Outerverseâs resources will be sent to the Daynight Flowzone. To the Daynight clan, the Outerverse will essentially cease to exist.â
Nightking Yuanjing trembled from his surging bloodlust, and he stared into Lu Yinâs eyes for a while before speaking with a softer tone. âHow about thisâyou can personally visit the Daynight clan to return the stone of inheritance, and Iâll find a way for Zhenwu to withdraw his accusations. Alright?â
Lu Yinâs expression softened, but he did not agree.
Nightking Yuanjing frowned. âYou may keep the battle techniques that youâve learned, but you definitely cannot teach them to any others. This you must swear before my Daynight clan.â
Lu Yin muttered to himself for a moment. âI have to personally go to the Daynight clan to return the stone of inheritance?â
Nightking Yuanjing nodded. âThis is our bottom line. We must let the entire universe know that whoever takes our items must return it in person. Of course, we know that Little Yinâs current status is quite different, so you donât need to publicly apologize, and we can even host the Daynight Feast to receive you.â
Lu Yin gave Nightking Yuanjing a serious look before slowly nodding. âAlright, Iâll go.â
Nightking Yuanjing smiled. âThis is the right way. My Daynight clan stands aloof from most affairs, and we do not have great animosity with Little Yin. Thus, thereâs no need to make things too strict. Iâll find a way to handle things with Zhenwu, and I will have him withdraw his accusations. However, that will have to be after the Daynight Feast.â
âUnderstood. Iâll have to trouble Senior Yuanjing,â Lu Yin said.
Nightking Yuanjing smiled and nodded before abruptly ending the call.
âSeventh Bro, do you really believe that old fogeyâs words?â the monkey asked.
Lu Yin replied, âOf course not. He wants to lure me over to the Daynight clan so that Nightking Zhenwu can kill me properly.â
âAnd youâre still going?â The monkeyâs voice rose, as he was scared of dying.
Lu Yin had no choice, as he could not refuse to go. It wasnât just because Nightking Zhenwuâs accusations had caused Lu Yin to lose his qualifications to join the events at the Astral Tower, but more importantly, because of Zhuo Daynight.
Recently, in all of his dreams, he would see Zhuo Daynight trapped all alone while facing Nightking Zhenwu. Lu Yin would never be able to forget that desolate figure and her despair.
How could Lu Yin allow that woman to endure everything by herself? Also, he had been wanting to visit the Daynight clan for some time. Otherwise, how would he be able to have his battle with Nightking Zhenwu and kill the man?
Both youths had similar thoughts, and they only had to finalize their arrangements.
Lu Yin took Ku Wei with him as they headed for Planet Enron.
Ku Wei was truly curious about what had happened, and what could have made Lu Yin reveal such a scary look.
Ku Wei grew a bit exasperated after discovering that he could not pull out any answers.
âKu Wei, what do you think of the Daynight clan?â Lu Yin asked suddenly.
Ku Wei thought about it. âWhat else can I think? Itâs a rampantly arrogant and powerful clan from the Innerverse that doesnât have any real ability. The Daynight clan is constantly trying to enter the Neoverse, but they canât force their way in.â
âWhy not?â Lu Yin was puzzled, as he did not believe that all of the Neoverseâs powers surpassed the Daynight clan in strength.
âThe Daynight clan acts tyrannically and unreasonably, so how could such people be allowed into the Neoverse?â Ku Wei asked scornfully.
Lu Yin asked, âWhat about the Daynight clanâs strength?â
Ku Weiâs mouth twitched. âAttitude is one thing, and it has to be acknowledged that they do indeed have the necessary strength. It wouldnât be easy for even one of the families from my Seven Courts to eliminate the Daynight clan, and it would actually be very difficult to do so. Although the clan has never birthed a Progenitor and they have no secret techniques to pass down, they simply have too many battle techniques. Additionally, they always have clan members being born with absurd innate gifts.â
He then paused for a moment. âAccording to rumors, the Daynight clanâs ancient origins are not simple, but thatâs nothing more than rumors, and I donât have any details.â
âThe clanâs ancient origins?â Lu Yin was puzzled.
Ku Wei nodded. âWhen I was younger, I heard some elders mention that the Daynight clan is supposedly the branch of some super powerful clan. No, the branch of some ancient super powerful sect. No, hold on, let me think. Why canât I remember now?â
Lu Yin responded, âForget the ancient timesâdoes the current Daynight clan have any powerhouses with a power level of more than 1,000,000?â
Ku Wei shook his head. âIâm not sure. You should ask Yuan Shi about that, as he should know.â
Lu Yin continued, âHave you heard of the Third Nightking before?â
Ku Wei grew horrified. âThe Third Nightking? He was a ruthless person beyond measure! He slaughtered his way into the Astral Beast Domain all by himself, and he was the one who established the clanâs tyrannical temperament. He was an absolutely ferocious person. Why is Your Highness suddenly bringing him up?â
Lu Yin frowned. The Third Nightking was still alive, and in the past, Lu Yin had used this information to whet the Daynight clanâs appetite, allowing him to gain quite a bit from those interactions. In fact, it had even allowed him to avoid the schemes of Nightqueen Yanqing and Nightking Zhenwu. Lu Yin had assumed that this was a good thing, but now that he had become mortal enemies with the Daynight clan, the Third Nightking was nothing more than an obstacle.
Even though the Third Nightking was unable to escape the Profound Void Realm, who could possibly predict the future? The Sixth Mainland had invaded the Astral Beast Domain, which might have had some huge effects on the Profound Void Realm.
Lu Yinâs thoughts ran wild, and before long, the two arrived at Planet Enron.
When the two youths arrived, everyone from Sea Kingâs Dome noticed their presence.
Elder Tong welcomed the two young men.
As one of the four elders from the Sea Kingâs Dome and the Sea Kingâs Domeâs military advisor, for Elder Tong to personally welcome Lu Yin was a huge honor.
After a few pleasantries, Lu Yin got straight to the point. âElder Tong, Junior came to you this time for nothing other than to ask the Sea Kingâs Dome to support Lan Si and thereby allow him to retain his authority among the Ten Arbiters.â
Lan Si had lost to Lu Yin, and although that was not enough for him to lose his position as one of the Ten Arbiters, due to the calamity that had struck Grayweed Continent, Lan Si had lost his backing as well. Even as one of the Ten Arbiters, Lan Si would not enjoy the same influence and power as before unless another powerful organization decided to support him.
For Lan Si, the Sea Kingâs Dome was the most suitable candidate. Even if no one knew where the Sea King was at the moment, with an Envoy realm powerhouse like Elder He around and the Sea Kingâs Domeâs influence within the Starfall Sea, they still were comparable to the former Grayweed Continent.
Elder Tong felt that this request was rather strange. âWhy is Alliance Leader Lu making moves on behalf of Lan Si? Could there have been other conditions placed on your battle?â
Lu Yin nodded. âWe agreed that if he won, my status as an Honor Chosen would be given to him. However, if I won, the Lan family would provide me with its unconditional support.â
Elder Tong instantly understood. âAh, itâs no wonder why the Lan family has moved to Frostwave Weave. Speaking of which, I have to congratulate Alliance Leader Lu for defeating Lan Si. From now on, you will be considered as someone at the peak of the universeâs younger generation.â
Lu Yin responded humbly, âI donât dare to consider myself at the peak. Elder Tong is exaggerating the situation. Regarding the matter Junior brought up, might Elder Tong agree to it?â
Elder Tong answered helplessly, âIâm sorry Alliance Leader Lu, but we have no ability to worry about other affairs at this moment, as we are trying to find a way to track down the Sea King.â
After arriving at Planet Enron and seeing Elder Tong, Lu Yin had become certain that the Sea King was not dead. Otherwise, the people from the Sea Kingâs Dome would be showing far different expressions.
Lu Yin did not see Hai Dashao, Hai Feng, Hai Qiqi, or Elder Heâs rune lines on Planet Enron. Thus, they must have all moved out to try to find a way to track down the Sea King.
