Chapter 38 You Don’t Understand Me

Lin Momo flushed, and she said, “Nonsense, that was just a made-up story.”

“I don’t care, anyway, five years are no big issue, and you’ve got other ‘issues’ that are really big.”

After that, Qin Haodong’s eyes turned to the plump chest of Lin Momo, and he couldn’t help but swallow saliva.

After that she lowered her head and escaped out of the ward.

Qin Haodong checked the clock on the wall. It was just 7:00 a.m. He raised his head and said to Nalan Wuxia, “You’re dedicated to your work, Officer Nalan. You’re here so early.”

“Not as dedicated as you. How can you still be so slick after taking ten more bullets? Do you know that indulging on your lust is to hang a knife upon your head?”

Qin Haodong checked those bandages wrapping all over him, that didn’t fit the mood he was in just now, however; he didn’t care about it at all. Nalan Wuxia pulled a chair and sat before Qin Haodong. Then she said, “Are you blaming me for ruining your good time?”

Qin Haodong answered with the slick smile, “You’ve already had the answer. Then why do you ask me? Can’t you just arrive a little bit late?”

“My miraculous doctor! You fought so hard to save the beauty last night. Were you doing that on purpose?”

Qin Haodong smiled and said, “You got me. Your eyes are really sharp.”

Nalan Wuxia glared at him, and said, “As far as I know, although the Ice Queen Lin Momo has divorced, she still has a daughter. Aren’t you afraid that the daughter’s father would jump out and mess up with you someday?”

“Well…” Now Qin Haodong felt embarrassed. He thought Lin Momo and he was a perfect match, and there was no great gap in between.

“What? Is it true? I’ve learned psychology,” said Nalan Wuxia with a proud smile emerging on her mouth corner.

“Like hell it can be true!” Qin Haodong stared at Nalan Wuxia and said, “I am not as heavy-taste like you. I only have taste for the beautiful woman, or… other women like your type.”

Qin Haodong said as he was checking on the curve body shape of Nalan Wuxia. Then he swiped the saliva at his mouth corner.

“You… b*stard, perverted!” Nalan Wuxia felt she would lose her mind if she continued to hear the man’s nonsense.

She said to Qin Haodong sternly, “Just go and love whoever you like. I’m here today for business.”

“You mean what happened last night? You’ve done the investigation?” asked Qin Haodong.

“Not completely. But one thing I am sure is that those men have nothing to do with you, and they are not Sad Dog’s fellows. They were doing after President Lin!”

Qin Haodong’s face didn’t change much when he heard the investigation. He said slightly, “You’re surprisingly efficient.”

“What do you mean? You’ve already known the result?” Nalan Wuxia asked and stared at Qin Haodong.

“Of course I have. I knew they were going after Momo as soon as they made their first move!”

“And you told me they are Sad Dog’s fellows. That leads us to the wrong working directions, and many of our resources were wasted. You think that’s fun?”

Nalan Wuxia grew angrier as she said that, and she looked like she was going to fight.

She had every reason to be mad, because she had been following Qin Haodong’s testimony to investigate after she took over the case. She had been busy all night, only to find those drug dealers totally silent.

And it took her long to find that those men were going after Lin Momo, and Qin Haodong was injured only because he wanted to be the hero saving the beauty. That was not revenge from drug dealers.

“An officer mustn’t fight a patient. Just tell me what you want, and don’t hit me!” said Qin Haodong, begging for forgiveness from the angry Nalan Wuxia. “That was my fault, but I didn’t have a choice because you wouldn’t believe me then.”

“So I am the one to blame? You’re the one who’s always slick and lying, so I thought you were joking!”

Nalan Wuxia said with anger, but she withdrew her fury and sat down when seeing Qin Haodong wrapped in the bandage.

“That’s because you don’t know me well! I am handsome and humorous, but I never make fun of serious business!”

“Pah! That’s just your narcissistic fantasy!” said Nalan Wuxia as she rolled her eyes to Qin Haodong.

“How about the investigation? Who’s the initiator?”

Qin Haodong turned serious when he asked. A fierce light flashed in his eyes. He was ready to kill because the evil backstage manipulator had tried several times to kill Lin Momo.

He would kill the manipulator no matter who the man was, as long as Nalan Wuxia could identify him.

“There was no clue yet because all those shooters in black were dead, and we got nobody to interrogate.” Nalan Wuxia stared at Qin Haodong and said, “Why were you being that fierce? Can’t you just leave us one man that was alive?”

Qin Haodong answered embarrassingly, “That was not my fault. Nobody would let anyone of them survive under that circumstance.”

He didn’t spare any of those men last night because all of them had guns in their hands, which were threats to Lin Momo and Tang Tang’s life all the time.

“Okay, I am not blaming you for that. I’ve already told you the case. Just take care of yourself. I am leaving.”

Nalan Wuxia said as he walked out of the ward. She was actually here to visit Qin Haodong, and at the volley to report the case to him. Now she had finished all of it, she was leaving the hospital for work.

“Goodbye, officer Nalan. Next time please knock the door, or I’ll charge you for the adult scene you’ll see!”

Nalan Wuxia was tripped and nearly broke her high heels. She glared back at Qin Haodong, and then she left without looking back.

As she was leaving, Lin Momo walked in with breakfast in her hands. Her face still looked rosy, which was quite tempting.

“Get up and eat your breakfast!” she said to Qin Haodong lying in bed.

“I am injured. I can’t get up.”

“How? I saw you sit up earlier!”

Lin Momo flushed as she the scene Qin Haodong kissed her crossed her mind again.

“And that tore up my wound, so I can’t do it again now.”

“What do you want?” said Lin Momo, biting her lips.

“I want you to feed me!”

Qin Haodong said cheekily.

“You…”

Lin Momo wanted to refuse, but her heart was softened when she thought of the scene that Qin Haodong was covered with blood in order to protect her and her daughter. She picked up a bowl of egg porridge, and feed Qin Haodong spoon by spoon.

Qin Haodong enjoyed the beautiful woman’s service as well as her beautiful look.

Lin Momo felt shy to be stared at. She stared him with her tempting eyes and asked, “What are you looking at? Anything special on my face?”

“Nothing is more beautiful than you,” Qin Haodong said with a cheeky smile.

“Stop being so slick.” Lin Momo grabbed a small steam bun and stuffed it in Qin Haodong’s mouth. She felt sweet inside.

Half an hour later, after the sweet breakfast was finished, Lin Momo said, “Stay here and recover. I’m going to work.”

“Can’t you stay with me here? I felt so lonely.”

Qin Haodong try to play the “poor me” card.

“No, there’re a lot of things that I need to deal with in the company,” Lin Momo glanced at Qin Haodong and said, “You lived in my house for days, but now the captain of the security team quit, and I dismissed all the guards. I need to go and collect the mess.”

Qin Haodong suddenly remembered this and said, “No guards? Are you safe on your own? Let me escort you to work.”

“Don’t. You’ll be the one that I have to protect if you go to work with me.” Lin Momo said, “My father sent half of his guard team to me. And don’t worry about safety, it’s the downtown area here.”

“OK! Then take care of yourself!”

Lin Momo said as she went out of the ward, and then she turned back and locked the door.

Qin Haodong was full, and he started to practice the Eternal-Life-Obtaining Green Wood, trying to heal the internal injuries as soon as possible.

All the bullets inside his body had been taken out. And after he finished three Great Routines, he felt as good as new.

At this moment, his cell phone on the bed rang.
