<hr class="wp-block-separator">\nI am not the Demon King!\nā€œPlease wait here. Let me call the villagers for a sec.ā€\n
ā€œEh, but why, Alissa……?ā€\n
ā€œI’ll be right back!ā€\n
Leaving a trail of dust with every step, Alissa dashed right into the village.\nAnd here, I was left behind with my five tames. Sigh, even though I wanted to sort things out first.\nSo basically, there are no records left that says Lylcara was a Monster Tamer at the time. Would it be fine to simply pass it off as part of Pappie’s adventures? I mean, look! The Divine Job Tome I found inside the ruins even had ā€˜Demon King’ as a Class on its own! She must’ve actually been the Demon King under the guise of a self-proclaimed Monster Tamer! Yeah! … Probably.\nThinking of it like that put me somewhat at ease.\n
ā€œHey, yo— Master.ā€\n
ā€œDude, you don’t have to keep correcting yourself every single time if it’s so hard to say.ā€\n
ā€œā€¦ā€¦ Apologies. I simply can’t get used to it.ā€\n
ā€œIn the first place, you’re way too self-important for being a newbie. Mind your manners a lil’ more in front of Master!ā€\n</ins>\n\nā€œI don’t think you deserve to say that, Milo.ā€\n
Milo’s manner of speech itself was pretty rough though.\nHe doesn’t have to be all respectful like Gilancia, but a little more would be nice.\n
ā€œWell, whatever…… Oi, you.ā€\n
ā€œWhat?ā€\n
ā€œHow will we proceed from now on? I am already under your dominance. I’ll follow you along wherever you want, butā€¦ā€¦ā€\n</ins>\n\nā€œAhh…… now that you mention it.ā€\n
What do I do? I’m a bit troubled by his question.\nI mean, I didn’t really think this through, you know. For the time being, I guess we could find some place and settle down.\nIt’s not like I can go on adventures taking monsters along. I can already see myself being denied entry from every single town I try to enter. They’d probably also mistake me for being a monster myself like Alissa did.\nIt’s not like I’m lacking money, so I guess it should be fine if I find some kind of quiet village and laze my life away.\n
ā€œI guess… I intend to leave the forest.ā€\n
ā€œAnd after leaving the forest… where do we go?ā€\n
ā€œEr…… wherever suitable? I kinda want to settle down somewhere.ā€\n
ā€œSo you intend to erect a homebase. Well, I guess we really are a large bunch, soā€¦ā€\n
ā€œThat’s right. That’s right.ā€\n
Just as he said, excluding me there are five of us. Moreover, Milo is twice my size whereas Pappie is thrice, so I guess calling a ā€˜large’ bunch is appropriate.\nRegardless of what village we go to, we’d need a large house to live in. We’d might as well buy some cows or chickens and grow our own vegetable fields, building up a self-sustaining lifestyle. Finally, my long awaited ā€˜slow life’ would be in my grasp.\nIt would be nice if we could live our lives as villagers there and then one day end up married. Even though we’d simply be living, we already have enough money for that.\nChappie handling manual labour, the dexterous Milo and Gilancia helping out in field cultivation, Pappie being our means of movement with his ability to fly, and finally, Bow being our watchdog. Such would be my solace.\nHuh, that actually sounds like pretty fun life now that I think about it.\nAnd amidst those times, I’d be able to continue increasing my tames. Since monsters don’t need food to stay alive, we’d be fine no matter how many I have.\n
