The Villain's Ending is Only Death Chapter 10
Emily stood trembling like a willow, almost on the verge of collapsing.
However, unable to withstand my pressure, she began to fumble with the bun of hair she had tightly tied up.
Before long, a shiny needle came loose in her fingertips.
‘Oh, you did hide it well.’
This is why Penelope was helpless.
Even if she wanted to lash out at the maid who had wronged her, it would have been difficult to find evidence.
Emily handed me the needle with her trembling hands.
I looked down at the object that had tormented Penelope so much. It was just a small piece of metal.
But I had experienced firsthand yesterday how much pain this small, thin needle could cause.
Every morning, she must have woken up writhing in pain, her arms raw with scabs, and no one would have understood her.
I gritted my teeth and ordered.
Emily slowly lifted her head.
Her eyes, filled with dread, seemed to imagine the horrors she would face from the cruel young lady.
However, unfortunately, what I was about to do was not for Penelope's revenge.
This time, I extended my hand without the needle in front of Emily.
It was a white, delicate hand with no scars.
Without hesitation, I plunged the needle Emily had given me into it.
The needle pierced me, but Emily screamed as if she had been stabbed.
I quickly pulled out the needle, which I had pushed in halfway.
A drop of blood welled up where the needle had been.
It hurt more than I had expected, to the point where my eyes welled up with tears.
But I didn't show it and plunged the needle into the spot right next to the blood drop.
This time, a groan of pain escaped me.
Emily gasped for breath as if she were suffocating.
Her tears flowed as she watched my cruel actions, and her helplessness made me feel a bit amused.
‘You’ve been doing this all along, so why are you so surprised now?’
"Miss, huff! Miss, why are you doing this!"
"There's no need to cry, Emily. These are the wounds you created."
I spoke gently to the sobbing Emily. Her face froze in confusion.
"Now there are two, but there could be three, four, or even five in the future."
Emily stopped breathing at my words. Her trembling body also stilled.
"I will accept everything you do from now on without suspicion. The water you prepare, the clothes, the food. Everything."
"The more you do, the more needle holes might appear on my hand, visible to everyone. Then, someone might notice the wounds."
"Someone might suspect who the arrogant noble who abuses Eckart is. For example, someone like your brother, Leonard."
I smiled brightly at Emily, driving the point home.
"It all depends on how you act from now on."
My personal maid didn't respond to my threatening words.
Her pale face made her look as if she had been strangled.
"Get up now. The mistress has finished her meal, so you need to do your work."
Then, I turned my head indifferently toward the large window beside the table.
Emily, who had been kneeling motionless, quickly stood up.
She began to quickly tidy up the table with mechanical movements.
‘She seems to understand well.’
That was fortunate. I could easily manipulate her in the future.
Even if my personal maid were replaced, my situation wouldn't change much.
Since I couldn't keep suffering, I decided to create a card to use to my advantage.
The personal maid who led the abuse.
Fortunately, a situation favorable to me had arisen.
Moreover, I liked Emily's character, which moved without principles based on self-interest.
While observing Emily, I realized she had almost finished tidying the table.
Bang! The door was slammed open.
I was startled and turned my head.
Lovely pink hair fluttered.
Whether he was a gentleman or not, the second son of the Duke, Leonard Eckart, glared at me with a twisted face.
He rushed into the room. [Affection -3%] appeared in front of me.
Leonard, who had been emitting a menacing aura, suddenly noticed Emily standing beside the table, and his face grew even more sinister.
Emily turned pale and froze.
I hastily looked at the table.
All the utensils except for a fork in front of me were on the tray.
Feeling an ominous premonition, I quickly placed the fork on the tray.
I scanned the surroundings again to ensure there were no potential weapons and then said,
Emily, as if waiting for my words, picked up the tray. Leonard shouted nervously,
I signaled with my eyes for her to leave before the temperamental young master erupted. The maid quickly rushed to the door.
It reminded me of how I had run away from Derrick yesterday, fearing for my life.
Finally, with Emily out, Leonard's piercing gaze fixed on me.
"Speak. What are you up to?"
I pondered how to respond.
In the game, Penelope spoke rudely to Leonard, who was two years older.
The age difference wasn't significant, so it was natural for them to clash like cats and dogs.
‘Just like me and the second brat.’
Of course, I hadn't fought back like Penelope; I had only suffered.
Still, since Leonard was the elder, I briefly considered using polite language like with Derrick but quickly dismissed the idea.
It would be ridiculous for someone who called me "Hey, you" yesterday to suddenly use polite language.
"Are you going to ignore me completely now?"
Leonard asked impatiently when I didn't answer immediately.
‘He really has a short temper.’
I replied casually, just like the real Penelope would.
"Why are you planning to use that woman as your personal maid again!"
[Affection -3%] flashed menacingly above his beautiful pink hair.
How could I answer to avoid a dead flag?
I considered opening the choice menu, but it was too late.
‘No, even if I opened it, it would probably just be more crazy lines.’
I swallowed dryly, looking at the fuming Leonard.
If I were Penelope, I would have said something like "Mind your own business" or "Get out of my room," which would have led to my death.
"It's nothing. Don't worry about it."
But I wasn't Penelope, so I softened the words.
Regardless, Leonard would take anything I said the wrong way, so I thought this would be a safe response.
However, it had the opposite effect, and Leonard's eyes flashed dangerously.
"Is it nothing that she fed you rotten food?"
"Disrespecting Eckart has its limits. How dare a lowly person like her!"
"A maid like her is not needed in this house. There are plenty of people who would be willing to be a servant here, even without pay!"
I was at a loss for words, surprised by his unexpected reaction.
Seeing him more angry than I was, I suddenly burst out laughing.
How dare a lowly person like her.
It was the same insult Leonard always hurled at Penelope.
He frowned and scolded me.
"How could you let a mere maid treat you like this?"
The servants here never listened to me, always treating the young lady as a joke.
The storm in my heart, which had been raging at the thought of possibly dying from a single wrong word, suddenly calmed.
"I saw Father yesterday about that incident."
I looked at him with colder eyes.
"Yes. Father agreed, and I immediately ordered that insolent woman to be dismissed."
Leonard puffed out his chest proudly, as if he wanted praise from the fake sister he despised.
Unfortunately, I had no intention of praising him.
"Father and the eldest brother didn't want Emily to be dismissed."
My calm voice made Leonard's blue eyes widen.
