<h6 class="has-text-align-center wp-block-heading">Edit 4/2/2021: Please see this note. </h6>\nThe Present\nThe next morning, at Bandao Hotel: \n
“This was way too risky!” Zhou Luoyang said, “Madness, absolute madness–––he’s got a gun! You were gonna fight a gunman using your bare hands?!”\n
Du Jing drank his coffee by the table as he answered, “I did think about killing him myself if it came down to it.” \n
Zhou Luoyang said, “Why would you kill him?” \n
Du Jing glanced at Zhou Luoyang and said indifferently, “Do you know who he is?” \n
Zhou Luoyang, “No ……”\n
Du Jing said, “So?”\n
Zhou Luoyang asked again, “Who is he? I don’t care who he is; why did you have to meet him alone?”\n
Du Jing said, “He must’ve bought quite a sum of life insurances; who’s to say whether the benefactor would be overjoyed? Of course, I have life insurance too.” \n
Zhou Luoyang was getting pissed. He watched Du Jing as he said, “You better tell me as it is.” \n
“Ex-boss’ employee,” Du Jing said, “A new hire under the Investigators’ Association.” \n
Zhou Luoyang asked again, “Why did you get into a fight with him?” \n
Du Jing was quiet for some time before saying, “Because of things in the past.” \n
Zhou Luoyang replied worriedly, “Are they still not going to leave you alone even after you’ve left that Investigators’ Association? Because of classified information?”\n
Du Jing was succinct in his answer, “No.” \n
Zhou Luoyang furrowed his brows in confusion. Du Jing gave it some thoughts and said, “It involves an older case and a death. This newly employed member of the Association clearly does not want to leave it as is. Su Pu suspects that I’m involved in that person’s death.” \n
“Whose death?” Zhou Luoyang said. \n
“I can’t tell you,” Du Jing’s tone carried a rare sternness, “Believe me; this isn’t something you should know.” \n
Zhou Luoyang could only give up in further questioning. He thought: If it was something related to Du Jing’s past missions and based on the information he’d leaked in his words, perhaps there was someone dying in an accident because of him when he carried out one of his missions. And this mission somehow was relevant to Su Pu, who then would tirelessly get to the bottom of it. They’d met each other by coincidence at the auction, where Su Pu recognized Du Jing, who’d left his previous position long ago ……. Both of them acted first without leaving room for negotiation, thus the consequence from last night. \n
“You swear that you’re not lying to me?” Zhou Luoyang looked at Du Jing with suspicion. This matter is way too strange; how could someone be contemplating his murder! \n
Du Jing said, “I have never lied to you.”\n
But he still raised three of his fingers and continued, “I swear to never lie to my wife, Zhou Luoyang.” \n
“Leave out ‘my wife’,” Zhou Luoyang said, “then I’d believe what you just said.” \n
Du Jing smiled. \n
How seldom was it for him to smile. \n
When Zhou Luoyang saw Du Jing’s rare smile, any hesitation and cause for anger were gone with the wind. \n
“Let’s go,” Zhou Luoyang thought for a moment, then said, “Let’s not join the auction and avoid meeting Su Pu in the future.” \n
“No,” Du Jing glanced at his watch and said, “We should get changed and go for breakfast. You will see Chen Biaojin at the restaurant, otherwise how would you get his inspection invitation? In the afternoon, you still have tea with Swarowsky.” \n
There really was no escaping today––––Zhou Luoyang thought to himself. But since he had some experiences from last time, he already had a good handle on everything. He appropriately arrived at the afternoon tea 15 minutes late. When he’d retrieved the watch for Swarowsky to fix, he didn’t put the two Eyes of Forseti in the scanner. In the end, he took a seat and drank tea with Du Jing in silence.\n
“I thought these 24 hours wouldn’t repeat again.” \n
“In the last 24 hours, I adjusted the date ring in the afternoon,” said Du Jing, “So that even if the watch is hit by a bullet during the night, the time travel would still take its effect.” \n
“In other words, perhaps the mechanism inside the watch didn’t entirely fall out?” Zhou Luoyang turned the dial in his hand and raised it towards the sunlight as he studied it. He murmured, “Then, there is at least one other speculation: this watch does not need to be complete to work; as long as one of its key parts is not destroyed, it can still travel to the past as it was.” \n
“Did you see it clearly last night?” Du Jing asked again, “What was in the broken watch?” \n
Zhou Luoyang shook his head, “I couldn’t have caught it in time.” \n
Du Jing said, “I saw a speck of light. Maybe my own vision had gone blurry then. It was a blue light.” \n
Zhou Luoyang said, “We can probably look for it the whole day. Let’s try to set up the time travel first, then take this apart in steps and see what exactly its driving force was.” \n
“That’s not a bad idea,” Du Jing replied with ease. \n
“Now that we’ve got the invitation letter,” Zhou Luoyang threw the other Eye of Forseti into his pocket, “I think it’s time to leave.” \n
He truly didn’t want Du Jing to meet with Su Pu again. The scene in which they’d ran off with dripping blood was too horrifying. Moreover, after Du Jing kicked him off from the sixth floor, he couldn’t confirm whether Su Pu had really died before midnight. If it was based on the pattern as before, if Su Pu had died once, there must be another death within these 24 hours …….\n
……. By some unspoken mutuality, they knowingly avoided bringing up the subject altogether. Du Jing continued to tap his fingers on the desk and went into deep thoughts. In the end, he looked towards Zhou Luoyang. \n
“Check the passport,” Du Jing said, “then let’s get going.” \n
At this time, the doorbell of the guest room rang. Zhou Luoyang looked out from the peephole: Su Pu was standing in front of their door as if he was an irrelevant nobody and ruffling through his hair. In his hand was a small handbag. \n
Zhou Luoyang looked back at Du Jing, who didn’t say a word, as if he’d seen this coming all along. \n
“Let him in,” Du Jing said as he stepped behind the bathroom door. \n
Zhou Luoyang hesitated for some time. Du Jing gestured that it was fine. Zhou Luoyang then took a deep breath and collected his thoughts before he opened the door. \n
“Is Vincent here?” Su Pu smiled at Zhou Luoyang with a gentle expression. \n
“He went out,” Zhou Luoyang said, “You can wait for him here.” \n
Consequently, Su Pu casually walked into the room. As soon as Zhou Luoyang closed the door, the back of Su Pu’s head took a hit from Du Jing and then he was on the floor. \n
Half an hour later: \n
Su Pu’s hands were tied behind his back, his mouth stuffed shut. Wearing a pair of gloves, Du Jing ruffled through his handbag and dumped out a handgun, a lipstick, and several identification documents. There was even a minicamera that recorded every movement opposite of the handbag from wherever he may set it down at. \n
“Uehh ……. Uehh ……” Su Pu couldn’t stop struggling as he tried to motion with his eyes for them to let him speak. \n
Du Jing held out the handgun and pointed it against Su Pu’s forehead. \n
Zhou Luoyang’s heart immediately jumped to his throat. \n
But Du Jing didn’t open fire in the end; he only confiscated Su Pu’s equipment and threw the person into the hotel’s bathtub. After that, he said, “Let’s go.” \n
Su Pu was extremely anxious and kept blinking with his eyes towards Zhou Luoyang. He was at first nodding his head up and down, then he was shaking it from side to side. \n
Zhou Louyang became worried, “Are you not gonna listen to what he has to say?” \n
“Nothing that’s worth me listening to,” Du Jing said coldly, “I’d only want to take a shot at his head even more if we let him speak.” \n
Du Jing dragged a suitcase behind him as he left the hotel foyer with Zhou Luoyang. There was a car that parked outside of the foyer. Zhuang Li’s face showed up when the car window was rolled down. \n
“To the airport,” Du Jing said. \n
Zhuang Li said, “I ……. Jing-ge, I just got off the plane and the luggage is still ……”\n
Du Jing stood there and looked at him. At that, Zhuang Li immediately U-turned and took them away from the Bandao Hotel. \n
On the way, there were suddenly many more temporary checkpoints for inspection. A call from Lin Di came onto Zhou Luoyang’s phone.\n
“Where did you go?” Lin Di’s voice was nervous, “Why didn’t you come to the auction?”\n
“They found out about us,” Du Jing said, “End the call.” \n
Zhou Luoyang could only apologize to Lin Di as he hung up. Du Jing picked up Huang Ting’s call. \n
“How did you hide a transgender person in the room?” Huang Ting said, “What the heck are you up to?! The police are already after you. And you? Where did you go?”\n
Du Jing said, “Keep them occupied and I’ll explain later. We have to leave the country and will meet you at Ho Chi Minh City.”\n
Huang Ting said, “Impossible! I don’t have the permit to conduct cross-border inspections, or else I wouldn’t be ……”\n
Du Jing hung up the phone. Zhuang Li took down the luggages. The three of them just stepped into the airport when they were blocked by the police. \n
Du Jing put his right hand over his left as he took a step back, showing his courtesy and cooperation. \n
Soon after, all the personal items of Zhuang Li, Du Jing, and Zhou Luoyang were taken away, including the two Eyes of Forseti. \n
Zhou Luoyang was taken to the Interrogation Room. An officer took out Su Pu’s gun out of a plastic bag and asked him, “Where did this thing come from?” \n
Zhou Luoyang looked at the hanging clock on the wall. Twelve o’clock. \n
The surrounding darkened, then returned to the light. He woke up on the bed at Bandao Hotel.\n
Du Jing held the phone as he gave in to deep thoughts. The watch was still on his wrist.\n
“We can’t let Zhuang Li come over; that guy can’t settle down,” Du Jing said, “Share a dance with me?”\n
Zhou Luoyang, “How did we come back to these 24 hours?”\n
Du Jing, “Better than squatting in the airport’s Interrogation Room. Let me plan out this schedule.” \n
Saying this, Du Jing jotted down a timeline on a piece of paper while muttering to himself. Zhou Luoyang walked over and looked at the flowchart; he suddenly felt that the two of them were playing a real-life RPG on adventure mode with multiple storylines.\n
“We must get the invitation and then leave,” Zhou Luoyang slumped forward on the table and said, “That’s the main objective.” \n
The first two buttons on Du Jing’s pajama were undone, revealing his collarbone and pecs that stayed half hidden behind the fabric. He looked back at Zhou Luoyang and nodded. \n
“Thus, the plan for our leaving time,” Du Jing said, “If we don’t want a direct confrontation with Su Pu, then we must leave after getting the invitation and before he blocks our way.” \n
“Can’t we use any other ways?” Zhou Luoyang asked, “For example …….”\n
“The meat grinder?” Du Jing asked, “But we can’t grind the head. What should we do with that?” \n
Zhou Luoyang exploded, “No! Why can’t you just make him talk?” \n
Zhou Luoyang meant the possibility of a peaceful resolution between the two parties. Why did they get into a fight last time and even fired the gun in the end? This was something that Du Jing still hadn’t explained. \n
But Du Jing said, “Don’t wanna listen to him talk nonsense. If we take into account the time gap, we can get to the airport first and then find somewhere to fax the invitation.” \n
Zhou Luoyang was out of ideas, “Fine, all up to you. Let’s give this a try.” \n
The following day, after seeing Chen Biaojin, drinking tea with Swarowsky, and obtaining the invitation, Du Jing and Zhou Luoyang called a taxi to head straight to the airport. This time went smoothly without troubles. It was only before the auction had begun that Lin Di and Huang Ting called them separately. \n
The reply that Zhou Luoyang gave to Lin Di sounded as though he was in a hurry to leave for some time. As for Du Jing, he asked Huang Ting to take his leave as soon as possible and that they would meet up in Ho Chi Minh City.\n
“I’ll go fax this,” said Du Jing, “It’ll take at least two hours for the electronic signature to update.” \n
Zhou Luoyang nodded as he bought the last flight to Ho Chi Minh City with Du Jing. \n
“Be careful,” Zhou Luoyang said. \n
While washing his hands in the washroom, he also washed his face while he was there. Just then, Su Pu appeared in the washroom mirror. \n
He stood behind Zhou Luoyang and said in a serious tone, “Zhou Luoyang, I have something to talk to you about.” \n
Zhou Luoyang wiped his hands dry as he contemplated negotiation tactics. Du Jing still hadn’t returned yet.\n
“How long have you known Vincent for?” Su Pu asked. \n
Zhou Luoyang said, “I don’t know you. There’s nothing to talk about. This is the men’s washroom, miss.” \n
Zhou Luoyang turned around to leave; he’d bet on that he wouldn’t kill anyone at the airport. \n
“Wait!” Su Pu wasn’t his normal self. Trailing behind Zhou Luoyang, his voice was low yet desperate, “Du Jing had come back to this country and become your companion for an ulterior motive! If you don’t want to risk your family’s life, you must consider working with us! Do not go any further ahead! Vincent had killed your father to hide his traces! Zhou Song was killed to be silenced!”\n
In that instant, Zhou Luoyang’s blood felt as if it had been frozen over. He turned his head immediately and stared at Su Pu. \n
\n“What did you say?” Zhou Luoyang’s voice was trembling. \n
“I have the evidence,” Su Pu said, “but it’s not in my hands. Follow me; I can ask the headquarters to send all the surveillance tapes from Haneda airport to me; that was a man-made car accident! I’ll get them to send it to me right now. We can find a cafe to sit down. The choice is yours!”\n
At the same time, Du Jing had finished faxing and was walking towards him from a corner not too far away. \n
In that brief second, Zhou Luoyang noticed two keywords: “Haneda airport”, “Man-made car accident”. \n
Why would a foreign Investigators’ Association look into the death of his and Le Yao’s father?\n
In a blink of an eye, Du Jing had already appeared in front of him. \n
Immediately thereafter, Su Pu pulled out a lipstick gun in the public airport, but Du Jing was even faster than him: Dodges, gun shots, the hanging monitor shattering into pieces. The New Hongkong airport was soon in chaos. As the police arrived on scene, Du Jing pulled up Zhou Luoyang and were on their way to leave the premises when they were held in control again. \n
“Hey,” Zhou Luoyang sat in the interrogating room with many thoughts on his mind and greeted the officer sent to question him, “We meet again.” \n
It was the same person that was ordered to question him, like the last 24 hours. The officer looked at Zhou Luoyang with suspicion and showed a peculiar expression. Zhou Luoyang only fixed his gaze on the hanging clock on the wall; the officer followed his gaze and looked towards the clock. \n
Midnight. The time had turned back, and they were back in the guest room at Bandao Hotel again. \n
Zhou Luoyang was at his limits, “Just what will it take for this day to finally be over?” \n
“Soon enough,” Du Jing said, “Sleep first. We’ll definitely figure it out by tomorrow.” \n
Zhou Luoyang, “I’m going insane. This is the fourth time for the same day. I’ll still have to meet Chen Biaojin in the morning! To have the same conversation verbatim!”\n
In the afternoon, they were at the airport. Du Jing read the Invitation with his head lowered. Zhou Luoyang went into the washroom. \n
Su Pu appeared behind Zhou Luoyang’s back and was instantly knocked unconscious by Du Jing with a bat. \n
Du Jing glanced at the watch. 11:05. \n
“Come over here,” Du Jing pulled Su Pu into one of the stalls. Zhou Luoyang followed in and locked them from inside out. \n
Du Jing patiently fished out from Su Pu’s bag a small bottle of anesthetic that masqueraded as nail polish. He squeezed a drop onto his jacket and used it to cover over his head. \n
Then, Du Jing let Zhou Luoyang jump into the next stall first and followed him. \n
“What’s that sound?”1 Whoever was outside walked over to knock on the stall door as soon as Zhou Luoyang landed and made noise from accidently slamming himself on the stall divider. \n
The airport security came into the washroom and talked amongst themselves in Cantonese. Du Jing gently nudged Zhou Luoyang. Zhou Luoyang gestured that there were people outside, and Du Jing gestured that it was fine. He ruffled Zhou Luoyang’s hair. \n
Zhou Luoyang, “???”\n
Zhou Luoyang opened the door and walked out. His expression was somewhat nervous. The security outside had thought that somebody had tripped and fell inside the stall; when they’d seen the two men in one stall, their faces became indiscernible.\n
Du Jing, unbothered, shook his belt and replied to them with a gaze of confidence. \n
The two of them walked towards the mirror, one after another. Du Jing patted Zhou Luoyang’s behind. \n
Du Jing, “Do you like it?”2\n
Zhou Luoyang, “……”\n
It was quite unusual for Zhou Luoyang to tighten Du Jing’s tie on his own accord: with a brutal push and shove, the tie closed up and was stuck on his Adam’s apple. \n
Du Jing didn’t go into the VIP lounge and just found a place to sit down at the terminal’s waiting area as he watched the washroom from a distance. He flipped out Su Pu’s lipstick; with a light twist, the gun barrel of the mini silencer gun was revealed. \n
“This is for you,” Du Jing said, “There are six bullets inside.”\n
There was another shotgun that Su Pu didn’t carry on himself; it was probably inconvenient to bring into the airport. \n
“The security now is really too subpar,” Zhou Luoyang said, “All kinds of things are being let in.” \n
“Investigators have their ways of investigating,” Du Jing put on his sunglasses and said nonchalantly, “He must have a receiver on the other end; and this receiver had already placed the gun inside the hotel.” \n
“Then why did this receiver never show his face?” Zhou Luoyang furrowed his brows.\n
“Never?” Du Jing said, “I don’t think so.”\n
Zhou Luoyang’s thoughts are very much in a muddle, which seemed to have escaped Du Jing’s notice. He said seriously, “We can discount the first time. The second time around, they realized quite quickly that Su Pu was locked up by us; this meant that there was a receiver paying attention to Su Pu’s whereabouts. It took them less than an hour to release him and then notify the police.” \n
Zhou Luoyang needed to find some words to distract himself, so he asked, “Who could be the receiver?”\n
Du Jing lowered his sunglasses and threw Zhou Luoyang a look.\n
“Who do you think?” Du Jing asked. \n
“How would I know?” Zhou Luoyang was at a loss. \n
He couldn’t contemplate too much on the details. In fact, Su Pu’s words truly did make him more confused and distressed to a degree. Zhou Luoyang was sure that his whole family was ordinary; his father had never shown to be hiding any secrets at all …… No, were there really no secrets?\n
Zhou Luoyang looked at the Eye of Forseti on Du Jing’s wrist.\n
He was trying his best to get rid of this string of intrusive thoughts. \n
Du Jing waited a while, but no answers came to him. He realized that Zhou Luoyang was behaving a bit differently. \n
“What’s going on?” Du Jing suddenly asked.\n
Zhou Luoyang replied with reservation, “I’m thinking.”\n
Du Jing revealed the answer to the puzzle and pointed out the key suspect, “That Ukranian girl.” \n
Zhou Luoyang’s thoughts were still in a jumble; at this time, he forced his attention to focus on the intel that was leaked by Su Pu before. \n
“Right,” Zhou Luoyang replied by instinct. \n
Du Jing thought that Zhou Luoyang was pondering on the links within this matter, so he naturally said, “We can’t be sure whether Swarowsky knew that there was a spy by his side; but it seems Su Pu and that Ukranian beauty aren’t of the same pack either.” \n
“Hmm,” Zhou Luoyang was tired; he rubbed his forehead as he said, “Otherwise on the night when we escaped, they wouldn’t let us go …… Du Jing?” \n
Du Jing, “?”\n
Zhou Luoyang and Du Jing stared at each other in silence. Du Jing raised one eyebrow; the scar on his face was particularly prominent, just like on the day when they first met. \n
Zhou Luoyang still thought that there was something he’d completely overlooked in this entire ordeal, but he couldn’t figure out what it was exactly. In the split second when their gazes met, the memory––their first meeting in the dorm room of turbulent storms–––was stirred up and he finally grabbed onto the piece of memory with accuracy. \n
Why did Du Jing quietly disappear during his third year of university, join the Investigators’ Association under FBI, and stay in Washington D.C. for two whole years?\n
None of these was something that he would have done. \n
The truth behind the car accident and the so-called secrets–––all these Zhou Luoyang could set aside temporarily and waited until later to interrogate for an answer. But the biggest mystery in this whole thing was for Du Jing, alone, to behave in such a way that was so out-of-character. \n
They were just ordinary people. During the time that they’d spent together, Du Jing had never mentioned that he wanted to become a private investigator. They’d never even heard of this Association. When they’d met again and when Zhou Luoyang asked for the reason that he’d left years ago, Du Jing’s reply was “Do you have to know this?”. \n
Zhou Luoyang looked at Du Jing intently. \n
Du Jing turned to his side and put one arm on Zhou Luoyang’s chair, as if embracing him. His fingertips tapped on the chair with casualty as he asked, “What did you come up with?” \n
At the moment when their eyes met, Zhou Luoyang’s doubts vanished. He decided to unconditionally believe in Du Jing, just like before. \n
“Nothing,” Zhou Luoyang convinced himself. \n
Du Jing, on the other hand, became suspicious of this. He wouldn’t show this perplexed expression very often; whenever it was just the two of them, they knew what each other was thinking like the back of their hands. \n
“They’ve noticed,” Du Jing lowered his voice.\n
The airport officers had found Su Pu, who was locked inside the washroom stall. They cleaned up the mob scene, pulled up the caution tapes, and started to rewind the surveillance tapes. \n
Zhou Luoyang and Du Jing lowered their heads. Su Pu still hadn’t fully regained his consciousness when he was being carried by the arms and stumbled out of the washroom. He was taken to a rest room by the same officer that had questioned Zhou Luoyang the last time. The officer even took with him an oxygen mask for Su Pu to use. \n
The officers started to patrol and question the crowds; just when they were heading towards them, Du Jing had no choice but to place his right hand over the dial of the Eye of Forseti. Just then, there was a scream coming from a distance, which made the two officers turn their heads in an instant.\n
There was a disturbance on the other side of the airport, towards which all the police officers ran. \n
At the same time, the public announcement was calling for boarding. Zhou Luoyang only heard the beginning of the announcement when he pulled Du Jing forward and said, “Let’s go!”\n
The passengers watched the direction towards which the officers left. Zhou Luoyang and Du Jing budged to the front of the VIP boarding queue, profusely apologizing. Zhou Luoyang showed his passport while his heart was racing. After the barcode was scanned, he boarded the plane without trouble. \n
As he sat down, Zhou Luoyang was still panting; meanwhile, Du Jing’s eyes were fixed on the cabin door with one hand pressed on the Eye of Forseti, getting ready for another round of time travel. \n
“It should be fine now, right?” Zhou Luoyang said quietly. \n
All the passengers had come onto the plane. Just when the cabin door was closing, a hand grabbed on to the doorframe. A familiar silhouette had appeared. \n
That person wore a backpack and spotted Du Jing and Zhou Luoyang, his gaze subconsciously falling on Du Jing’s watch. It was Huang Ting. \n
Du Jing’s expression was as carefree as can be when he loosened his grip. Huang Ting nodded, showing that there was no problem. \n
Only as the plane took off that Zhou Luoyang could finally catch his breath. When he looked out the window, he noticed that there was a police car parked on the ground. They could have stopped the plane if they had arrived a split second earlier. \n
The plane engine whirred. Du Jing asked the attendant for a blanket and handed it to Zhou Luoyang. \n
“Your company’s benefits aren’t bad,” Huang Ting walked over from economy and went to the lavatory at the front of the business class.\n
“Do you want an upgrade?” Du Jing looked at Huang Ting, who waved his hand no. \n
Du Jing stood up and went to look for an attendant so they could upgrade Huang Ting’s ticket. \n
Zhou Luoyang gave it some thoughts before realizing that this was Du Jing’s way of showing appreciation. The disturbance that distracted the police at the airport just now was probably a prank done by Huang Ting. \n
“Thanks,” Huang Ting nodded towards the two.\n
Du Jing and Zhou Luoyang replied likewise, “Thank you.” \n
The international flight to Ho Chi Minh City only took three hours. Once the midnight snack had been served, the three of them started to settle down. Huang Ting turned on the in-flight entertainment system and started to watch movies. \n
“You said that you’d never lie to me,” Zhou Luoyang suddenly said to Du Jing. \n
Du Jing adjusted his noise-cancelling headphones; he was surprised to hear these words and turned his head to stare at Zhou Luoyang. \n
“Sometimes, you would double and triple check the things that you’ve already set your heart on; this stubbornness is kind of girly,” Du Jing replied, “Do you also feel insecure?” \n
Zhou Luoyang was irritated, “Cut the bullshit.” \n
“But I really like this side of you,” Du Jing said, as if to himself, “Because it makes me feel that you’re relying on me. I’ll snooze for a bit.” \n
Du Jing put on his eye mask. Zhou Luoyang rolled down the divider between the business class seating, made sure that he was right at where Du Jing could see him as soon as he woke up, and didn’t bother him anymore. He knew that Du Jing needed the rest; he had to take care of complicated matters once the day broke. \n
“Swear that you didn’t lie to me.” \n
“I swear that I will never lie to my wife, Zhou Luoyang.” \n
That day from many years ago, Du Jing had a serious composure when he said those words to Zhou Luoyang, with three fingers raised from his right hand and holding a book in his left.\n
Zhou Luoyang’s reply at the time, “Stop fooling around!”\n
That was Zhou Luoyang’s first–––and the only–––time when he asked Du Jing about his sexuality. Du Jing’s answer was, “I’m not a homosexual.”\n
And then Zhou Luoyang said that sentence. After that, Du Jing’s answer was “I swear that I will never lie to my wife Zhou Luoyang.” There was nothing that Zhou Luoyang could do with him. \n
