Haru: Whatās that āAuto-Memories Dollā stuff youmentioned?
Violet: My occupation.
k.u.miko: First time Iāve heard of it. What kind of workdo you do?
Violet: It is a profession in which I write lettersregarding whatever my client wishes.
k.u.miko: So you write letters in your clientsā stead?Sounds difficultā¦
Haru: *points at a nearby typewriter* You use that?

k.u.miko: Sorry about that⦠Ah, right! Did you gosightseeing anywhere, Nanase-san?
Haru: I went to the river.
k.u.miko: āThe⦠riverā?
Haru: One with a wooden bridge across it and lots ofpeople.
k.u.miko: Ah, the Great Sanjou Bridge, right? I also gothere with my friends when we donāt have practice.
Haru: The water there is too shallow. I couldnātswim in it.
k.u.miko: Youād wanted to swim in the Kamo river?!
Haru: Makoto stopped me, though.
k.u.miko: Thank goodness. There was someone to stop you.Violet-chan, where did you come here today from?
Violet: From the mountains.
k.u.miko: First the river and now the mountainsā¦
Enough with these guysā¦!
Violet: Miss Cattleya called it āArashiā.
k.u.miko: Ah! Mount Arashi, right? Were you touring?
Violet: No. We were on a trip to a customerās place onthat day, to write on their behalf.
k.u.miko: So you travel to lots of places⦠sounds likea rough job.
Violet: I do not harbor any feelings of exertiontowards it.
k.u.miko: Then⦠sounds like allās fine, but⦠ughā¦*sighs*
Haru: Oumae, do you live in Kyouto?
k.u.miko: Yes, I live in Uji, in Kyouto Prefecture.
Haru: āUjiā? Where the Uji river is?
k.u.miko: Yep! Uji river is famous for appearing in āGenjiMonogatariā!
Haru: If it were there⦠Iād be able to swim.

Silence wenton after the messy conversation. Would k.u.miko, Haruka and Violet be able to cometo an understanding with each other?
Part 2:
There hadbeen no laughter in k.u.miko, Haruka and Violetās waiting room. Instead, aserious atmosphere loomed over the place. k.u.miko was at her witās end whenthere was a sudden knock on the doorā¦
Cattleya: Excuse us!
Makoto: Ah! Haru!I finally found you!
Reina: So you were in this room.
k.u.miko: Reinaaaaaaaaa!
Reina: Hehe, youāre so funny, k.u.miko.
k.u.miko: I didnāt mean to be funny!
Makoto: Haru, I was startled when you disappeared outof the blue.
Haru: I wouldāve come back if youād called me.
Makoto: Yeah, yeah, you say that after having left us.Everyone was worried!
Cattleya: We were searching for you guys all on our ownwhen we met in the lobby. Then, we hunted for you together.
Reina: This room was super quiet when I pa.s.sed byearlier, so I didnāt think there was anyone inside.
k.u.miko: *gulps*
Cattleya: Wait, were you chatting? Violet, youāvechanged a bit, havenāt you?
k.u.miko: Yes. Sheās very strange⦠AH!
(T/N: This justnow was a pun that gets lost in the translation. The word 'strangeā can bewritten with the same characters as āchangedā in j.a.panese. k.u.miko misunderstoodwhat Cattleya meant at first and blurted out something with a different meaning, lol.)
Cattleya: Donāt sweat it. Sheās only just started gettingaround. Thereās still quite a lot that she doesnāt yet know.
k.u.miko: No, I think thereās a lot in this world that Ialso donāt know about.
Reina: You werenāt able to have a conversation atall, were you?
k.u.miko: Hicā¦!
Makoto: Thatās okay! Everyone gets nervous when meetingpeople for the first time. So, why donāt we try talking about something now?
Cattleya: Letās do it~. So⦠whoās got something todiscuss?
Reina: Why donāt we choose a subject that anyone cantalk about? Like what food we enjoy?
k.u.miko: Yeah! I like cooking eggs, and I really lovemaking fluffy rice omelets!
Haru: Mackerel.
Makoto: Thatās right. Haru is really good at cooking. Hecan make various types of dishes with mackerel.
k.u.miko: Oh~, amazing!
Thank G.o.d some normal people came to my aid!
Cattleya: What about you, Violet?
Violet: So long as I obtain the necessary amount ofnutrients to be able to move around, I have no problem with consuming anything.
Reina: *discreetly* Was she like that all this time?
k.u.miko: *quietly* Yep.
Makoto: Well, everybody has things they like and donātlike to eat. So why donāt we pick something else to talk about?
Reina: Then, how about 'stuff weāve done latelyā?
Makoto: Sounds great!
Haru: I got my driverās license.
Everyone: Oooh!
Cattleya: Violetās done something like that too, yousee!
Violet: I have practiced my typing.
Everyone: Oooooooh!
Cattleya: She was pretty unskilled at the beginning, butonce she started training, she improved very quickly.
k.u.miko: You two are incredible⦠I⦠uh, something Iāvedone recently? Hmmm? This is bad, nothing is coming to mind!
Reina: What about āthat thingā?
k.u.miko: Ah! In the band, Iāve finally become able toplay a line that was hard for me before.
Makoto: Thatās wonderful!
Haru: Yeah!
Cattleya: Youāve certainly put a lot of effort in there.
k.u.miko: T-Thank you very much!
Makoto: What instrument do you play?
k.u.miko: I play the eupho.
Haru/Makoto/Cattleya: āUFOā?
k.u.miko: Of course you wouldnāt know of it. Itās abra.s.s instrument that is basically a smaller version of the tuba. Since itāspart of the ba.s.s section, it might be a bit too trifling for people to knowā¦By the way, Reina plays the trumpet.
Haru/Makoto/Cattleya: I know the trumpet.
k.u.miko: Of course you wouldā¦
Cattleya: My, so you both are actual musicians!
k.u.miko: I wouldnāt consider myself a musicianā¦
Cattleya: Speaking of which, Violet also brought a bookto read for the performance!
Violet: This book is also about the euphonium.
k.u.miko: Ah! Itās the āFun Euphoniumā!
Violet: āThe euphonium is a bra.s.s instrument in thelow-middle range. Its trait is a soft, temperate sound that envelopes theaudience.ā
Makoto: Is that so? Iāll make sure to pay attentionfor it during the performance.
k.u.miko: Ah, please doā¦
Iām sort of happyā¦
Makoto: But concert bands must have tough practices.Itās a cultural club, and you need a lot of stamina, too.
k.u.miko: Well, itās not easy⦠but I really like it.
Haru: Itās good to treasure the things youāre fondof.
k.u.miko: Yeah! Nanase-san, you sure love swimming,right?
Haru: Yes. I want to continue swimming, too.
k.u.miko: Hehehe. I somewhat feel like performing rightnow.
Reina: k.u.miko, itās almost time for the ensemblepractice.
k.u.miko: It is! We gotta go.
Makoto: Haru and I should be heading to the screeningtoo. Well, then, you two make sure to do your best tomorrow!
Cattleya: Weāll be looking forward to listening to yourperformance.
k.u.miko: Everyone, thank you so much! Violet-chan, willyou come to see tomorrowās concert?
Violet: Affirmative. *bows* I shall endeavor to a.n.a.lyzethe music at the concert of you two.
Haru: Itās not just them; a concert is somethingcreated by the whole band. Itās just like a relay.
k.u.miko: Ah, true! Everything comes back to swimmingfor you, Nanase-san!
