Chapter 5: Green Anaconda

Dai Zu had quite the perseverance. The next couple of days after that, he was always hanging around Yan Leyang,

“You’re saying that we actually have herbivores here?” Yan Leyang was surprised, “Gigantic ones?”

“Exactly. Though you probably won’t meet them. Those two guys stay in a place quite far away from us. Their personalities are quite feisty and they don’t like us carnivores. “ Dai Zu kept a certain distance when talking to Yan Leyang.

It was so that Yan Leyang wouldn’t be on guard and there would also be enough distance between them for Dai Zu to be able to escape in time if the need arose.

“Do you know what their original form is?” Yan Leyang was quite curious.

“One is an elephant, the other is a rhinoceros. I heard that they went crazy and attacked carnivores which was why they were captured.” Dai Zu listed down, “We mostly have bears here. Brown and black bears are the same type and are more dangerous; though that might not be the case.”

Dai Zu was quiet for a moment, and suddenly, his eyes glowed 1 as he glanced at Yan Leyang: “If it’s you, even if it’s an elephant….”

“This is really impossible!” Yan Leyang interrupted the guy’s dangerous thoughts, “Given the sheer weight 2, I’m only a small kitten.”

“But a normal member of the cat clan would also be unable to beat a bear.” Dai Zu was a bit disappointed.

“Uh, this… maybe it’s because my body build is bigger than others of the same species as me.” Yan Leyang gave himself an excuse, “I am a ginger cat.”

Dai Zu stared at Yan Leyang for a while before nodding: “That’s true.”

The size of the average person from the cat clan was shorter. The masculine ones, who were 170cm and above, were all still quite tall. The height of an average masculine clansman was usually around 160cm and above, while females were usually around 150cm.

Yan Leyang was 185cm; which was considered gigantic in the cat clan.

“Oh and lately that python snake might have his eyes on you. He’s the one who stole my partner from me. 3” Dai Zu furrowed his eyebrows, “He’s a pervert.”

“My ex-boyfriend seducing him was something that I never even considered.” When Dai Zu said this, the tip of his eyebrows furrowed subconsciously. 4 But it was ok.

So many of his partners had cheated on him that he had already grown used to it: “When that person likes someone, he truly likes them. It’s just that there’s something wrong with his brain.”

“I’ve seen it with my own eyes. He went after a guy who’d just entered the prison.”

Dai Zu retold the story of the two (the snake and the new guy); roughly speaking, that python snake had no resistance towards beautiful people and liked to play. But once he was devoted (in a relationship), it was very troublesome.

Two years ago, this python snake had pursued a fox beast. He had truly fallen for him, and was really obedient to the fox. He would listen to everything the other party asked of him.

“I even saw with my own eyes that whenever the fox was unhappy when things didn’t seem to go his way, he would slap the python’s ears. The snake kept apologizing and didn’t dare to let out a fart.” Dai Zu clicked his tongue as he shook his head. Seeing Yan Leyang’s spirits rising, he spoke in more detail.

“Later, that python liked his small boyfriend so much that once, when he was out with the fox to the food distribution spot, after noticing that his small boyfriend took more than one glance at a guy, he ate that guy.”

“He swallowed the guy after strangling him.”

【That’s true. At the time, when I was watching, whoosh, suddenly the person was gone.】

【Yes, yes yes, I thought it was going to be a romance story, but in the end it turned into a horror story.】

【Btw, why does it feel like Dai Zu has been talking a lot more after hanging around Yan Leyang?】

【These days the people from the cat clan who have been making a ruckus for Yan Leyang to go die have decreased a lot.】

After that, there was a quarrel in the comment section about the system of each group of countries’ alliance.

This happened unbeknownst to them (Yan Leyang and Dai Zu), and after listening to Dai Zu’s description, Yan Leyang inhaled: “A pervert eh.”

In his previous world, there was a snake among his friends. In fact, there weren’t many from the snake species in the group of beastmen he knew.

But unlike the legends of human mythology, they were not vicious at all. On the contrary, they were lazy. If they didn’t need to move, they wouldn’t move. Their favorite thing to do was to form groups and to bask in the sun.

Moreover, most people from the snake clan were very timid. At least Yan Leyang had never seen someone from the snake clan engage in trouble or group fights. In the past, when they went to middle school, those snake clansmen were all just simple, naive hermits.

An antisocial snake was….. actually quite rare to see.

“That’s right, and he’s quite interested in you.” Dai Zu warned, “Recently, he was encouraging the black bear — who was punched by you last time — to retaliate against you. He may want to help you after you are attacked. This is his usual trick.” 6

“How many people could you handle by yourself?” Dai Zu asks.

Yan Leyang was stunned: “I think it would be safer for me to run far away. I am a civil servant, not that great at fighting.”

“You [formal] sure are funny.”

“I’m being serious.” Yan Leyang scratched his head,  “I used to be a congressman. They (the bear and others who were fighting) are all people who seriously killed others…..By the way, what race is that snake?”

“Green anaconda.”

“Alright, let’s just stay at a respectful distance. 7” Yan Leyang could bite the other party’s head off, but that was only if he wasn’t strangled to death by them before that.

He had attacked the black bear before to establish an image that he was ‘not easy to bully’, otherwise with his appearance, Yan Leyang would probably get into a lot of trouble.

Since he had beaten the black bear, guys who were looking for trouble and wished to attack him would have to weigh it out before making a move. But he didn’t plan on beating every single person who came looking for a fight.

What if there was an unexpected failure? 8

Moreover Yan Leyang liked water. The whole tiger clan was quite fond of water. Especially during summer, when one could soak in a small pond, it was very refreshing.

Yan Leyang himself was also very good at swimming. It was just that…. among the feline species… it seemed like… probably… maybe… only their tiger clan liked to bathe in water.

”I personally like water a lot.” Yan Leyang could only explain like this, “It’s quite relaxing to bathe in water.”

【Is he for real?】

【Wait a minute, why would he think the water is comfortable? He’s probably just saying that to respond in agreement with the crocodile.】

【Is this guy really from the cat clan?】

Dai Zu stared at Yan Leyang for a while. In the end, he nodded: “You are a cat with good taste like I have never encountered before.” He had never understood why those cats didn’t like to touch the water at all. Wouldn’t it be uncomfortable? Didn’t your body feel dry?

“That’s a given.” Yan Leyang accepted all such compliments that were directed his way.

Disregarding the others, the tigers were fully evolved killing machines. This was a given. He could run, jump and dive. When he was in junior high school, the baboon in the school next door believed the information on a ‘x-du encyclopedia’ 9 and some rumors.

After damaging Yan Leyang’s bike, he had hidden up on a tree. Before Yan Leyang pulled him down from the tree, the other party had been mocking him, firmly believing that the tiger would not climb the tree.

After being dragged down, he was so scared that he peed in his pants.

Dai Zu nodded. He brought Yan Leyang to his own little pond: “If you mind, I can leave first.”

“Thanks.” After getting along with him for the past few days, Yan Leyang found that Dai Zu was not bad. He exuded an inexplicable sense of loyalty and honesty.

“You’re welcome…. hm?” Dai Zu was just about to head out when he suddenly felt a sense of foreboding. The surrounding grass was pressed down, as though something strong was crawling over the grass, “Wait, don’t go into the water yet! There’s a situation.”

At the moment when the words fell, two black bears ran out of the grass and stared at Yan Leyang who was behind Dai Zu.

Yan Leyang glanced over to where Dai Zu was standing at. Suddenly, he heard a splash 10 Something appeared from the pond.

Low hissing sounds rang out, Yan Leyang turned around to meet a pair of golden vertical pupils. The pair of eyes looked similar to Dai Zu’s.

It was just that the owner of this pair of eyes had chocolate colored skin and his hair and eyelashes were all white. He gave a strong visual impact. He had a good face, a slender and strong upper body, with a brown-green snake tail from the waist down with large black patterns on it.

The golden vertical pupils were quite scary, especially when this pair of eyes were fixated on one’s self.

And the ssst- sound from earlier was this bro’s snake hiss.

“Do you like bathing?” It appeared to be a habit developed after a long time, the green anaconda’s tail and hips were twisting slightly. The black skin with silver eyelashes had a strange and flirtatious feeling: “My territory is a swamp.”

As he spoke, his upper body leaned forward and he smiled. He wanted to get closer to Yan Leyang, but he noticed Yan Leyang’s vigilant eyes, and so, he didn’t stick to his face: “I can give it to you.”

炯炯有神jiǒngjiǒngyǒushén: Basically their eyes were bright and full of expression. 吨位dūnwèi: tonnage..or deadweight tonnage/tones of deadweight. I’m assuming that he’s saying the elephant is very heavy, and would be impossible to beat.挖我墙脚Wā wǒ qiángjiǎo is from 挖墙脚 wā qiáng jiǎo: which is to dig wall and feet. It’s to describe a person who stole one’s possession/partner away. Or like a third person entering and breaking a couple. Kame: In the raws, it’s “眉头不由自主的皱了起来” which meant that the tip of his eyebrows furrowed subconsciously. I know he had already furrowed his eyebrows in the previous sentence,thus it would be repetitive, but that’s how it is in the raws so yeah. 武力值wǔlìzhí: 武力 is like military force, 值 is like the value. Kame: Damn…the so-called fake “英雄救美” (heroic rescue of a damsel in distress)… xD 敬而远之jìng’éryuǎnzhī:An idiom that means to show respect from a distance or to remain at a respectful distance. 阴沟里翻船yīngōulǐfānchuán: Literal translation is boat flip over in a ditch/gutter. An idiom that means to meet with an unexpected failure. x度in  x度百科…It’s basically referring to Baidu百度..except they didn’t mention it but wrote X-du. 百科 is encyclopedia 哗啦huālā, it’s just a sound effect…kinda like a splash sound.
