“Don’t be cheated by his appearance. He looks icy but is a good person indeed. ” In order to make Ji believe her, Ai tried to say something good about Lu. After a series of persuasion, Ji finally believed that Lu didn’t bully her. Then she was comforted.

They hadn’t seen each others for a long time and thus they couldn’t stop chatting. Ji asked about Ai and then Ai asked about Ji.

Ji felt too annoyed to gossip for all the time. She didn’t want to talk about it any more. Then they mentioned some interesting things that happened in their college years. Ai couldn’t stop chuckling. It could be told by her laughter that she really enjoyed herself.

Lu couldn’t chip in so he concentrated on driving.

When their talk was close to the end, the car was right in front of the restaurant. And they finally realized they were already hungry.

Lu walked ahead of them. Ji told Ai secretly, “Your man looks like a good guy. He’s pretty gentle.”

Ai smiled. They took a seat in the restaurant. Ji went to the bathroom and told Ai to order the dishes she liked. Obviously, she was a foodie.

Lu finally got a chance to speak with Ai. He asked, “Why did she call you Saner?”

“Ah. Well. That’s a name based on my age order among friends. I am the third oldest. So she calls me Saner. (Third is pronounced as San in Chinese . Er is a suffix to call someone in an intimate way.)”

Lu raised his eyebrows when he heard it. There was a flash of gladness in his eyes, “Likewise.”

“What?” Ai stopped for a second and then realized that Lu was also the third oldest among them four. So Song Shizhang called him Laosan.

Ai chuckled. The simple connection somehow betters her mood suddenly out of no reason.

“Are you nervous now? You didn’t talk much.” Lu kept nagging her before because of her injury. But now he was silent as a calabash without a word.

Lu was poker-faced, saying in a cool way, “I am quiet with strangers.”

“So she is not a stranger?” Ai didn’t care about it.

Lu was quite considerate to Ai when they were eating. He would help her to get the dishes she liked.

Ai threw what she disliked to Lu’s bowl and Lu would take over whatever she dumped into his bowl.

Ji was astonished. “When has she been so intimate with a man? Is there anything special that happened between them?”

She switched her sight between them. Ai caught her intention to inquire in her eyes, blushed, “Why…why don’t you eat?”

Ji smiled meaningfully, “Saner. You did change a lot.”

Ai was confused, “What changed in me?” Was it true? Why did she feel nothing about it?

“You…” Ji was about to say, but Lu interrupted her, “Miss Ji. It is always delightful to have friends coming from afar. Let’s toast for such a wonderful meeting. ”

“Erhhh… OK…” Ji was warned by his look. She drank the wine and swallowed what she was going to say. It seemed that the man really cared about Ai. Was it a good or bad thing?

But Ai didn’t notice the subtleties between them. She asked confusedly, “What changed in me? Why didn’t you go on?”

“I was going to say… I remember you were super introvert and quiet. But how did you become as outgoing as me? Is it because there are all men in the troops, and you start to act like a man now?” Ji changed the topic.

Ai didn’t feel suspicious. Having heard what Ji said, she was a little bit speechless, “So you mean I am not quiet now?”

Ji gave her a negative look.

Ai smiled with satisfaction, “That’s right.” Ji rubbed her arm dramatically, “That’s enough. You don’t need to make fun of a loner in this way.”

Ai was so embarrassed that she stuffed food into Ji’s mouth, “Let’s have some more. Eating but not talking.”

“Thank you. I am on diet.” Ji refused, but she didn’t even stop eating.

“You should eat more. It will take six or seven hours to return by car. ” Ai suggested in a kind way.

“…” Ji was shocked. She thought that Ai lied to her. She didn’t feel desperate until she found that the car was still in the mountains after about three hours.

When they arrived, Ji was wild with joy and jumped from the car. Ai also wanted to do so but was dragged by Lu.

Seeing Ai was being careless, Lu didn’t help criticizing her, “Don’t run. Don’t you know that you

are injured right now?”

Ai was dragged so she didn’t dare to move. She could only justify for herself, “I just ran a short

distance. I am OK.”

Lu frowned a little bit, but worry still could be seen from his eyes, “Can you walk in a normal way? What if you get hurt again?”

Ai’s face turned red and she lowered her head, “Ok. I see.”

Ji noticed that Ai wasn’t following her. When she turned back and saw Ai being criticized like a pet by Lu, she burst into laughter immediately. What a rare situation! There should be a man in the world who could overpower Ai?

Ai glared at Lu when she was teased by Ji.

Lu stroked her head and then Ai calm down.

To celebrate Ai’s discharge from hospital, Yang Anxin prepared a fancy dinner and invited Song Shizhang and Du Yucheng.

Ai heard someone talking about her fighting with robbers as soon as they arrived.

“Her purse was robbed and she ran after the robber immediately. How brave she is.” Yang gasped in admiration.

“Purse?” Du said in a low voice.

But his voice was overwhelmed by Song’s. Song was so loud that Du’s query sounded like an illusion and nobody knew if anyone did say the word.

Song shouted with his distinctively loud voice ,” Like father, like daughter. Ah. No. It seemed not like this. I just wanted to say that a hero like Lu San should marry a straightforward woman like Ai. You should never marry a woman who is always shilly-shally and you can’t even say anything bad to them. ”

“Ah. I didn’t expect that a man likes gossiping too.” Ji was walking in front of Ai, and turned her head back to Ai.

Yang saw them and walked forward, “Colonel Lu, Changhuan. Come in, please.”

Ai smiled and pulled Ji towards Yang, “Anxin. She is my best friend, Ji Xingfan. She came here to see me from A town. ”

“Ah?” Yang looked Ji Xingfan up and down and said suddenly, “Are…are you Lv Xiaojuan in that movie… Lifetime Lover ? ”

Ji starred in that movie three years ago, which made her famous. It was quite surprising that she met a fan here. Ji held back mischief and acted like a star now. At least she couldn’t let her fan down, right?

Ji smiled gently. She answered in a cool way, “Yes”.

“Ah!” Yang was amazed. It was her first time to be close to the Queen of Movie. She was excited, “I am a fan of your movie.”

The year when she saw the movie was the seventh wedding anniversary with Pei Mu. The movie was so touching that she became a fan of Lv Xiaojuan, a perseverant girl starred by Ji Xingfan.

Ji lowered her head coyly. She held Ji’s hand and said, “Thank you. I can’t make it without your support.”

“Come here and have a seat.” Yang was pleased with Yang’s gentleness. She pulled her to the table and started to talk about that movie.

It seemed that Pei Mu also remembered. He nodded towards Ji Xingfan.

Yang introduced Song Shizhang to Ji.

Ji looked elegant and gentle. You couldn’t tell any difference between her and a lady born in a noble and respectable family back in ancient times who was calm and imperturbable. A slightly loud voice could interrupt her.

Song just said he didn’t like those women who were shilly-shally but now he was in awe, only to exclaim, “OMG!”

Ji tilted her head, saying innocently, “What did you say?”

Song wiped his saliva and stumbled nervously, “Hello…Hi, I am Song Shizhang.”

Everyone didn’t help laughing for they never saw this bold man being shy and blushed.
